    Jesus christ a ring... Really...

I dont see why people are butthurt about having a toggle... It doesnt affect anything in any way... Doesnt mess with any balance. It just lets you decide when you want to use your rested exp bonus or not. Unlike WoW where you only have the one class so the rested EXP has to go to that regardless. Whats so bad with having an option when to use your rested exp up? It still caps out at the same amount. I would like the option of toggling it on or off.

Nothing butthurt about it. People who don't like it, don't like it. no need to veer off into extreme nonsense. I don't see a need for the toggle. It is a bonus after all. However, if enough people whined about it causing SE to add it, it won't bother me, just seem like an unnecessary change.

    My thoughts exactly.

After all, if you were really focused on being a crafter/gatherer, that's what you'd be doing the moment you got out of bed.

If you aren't, you still have the training manuals.

A side question though, and forgive me for sounding like a noob; If you gain exp off mobs while capped at 50, does that decrease your rested bonus? (If not, the answer to OP's problem is simple)

It doesn't. Once at 50 your rested bonus locks.

Well its not so much that it locks you still see the (+50%) annotation when you do kill mobs ect. Its that classes/jobs at 50 don't gain any of that xp there for not cutting into the bonus

Bah, I typed up a long ass response to this and my browser ate it.

Other games don't have the "level all classes on one character" mechanic - and Guardian's Favour, while terrible in every way comparatively, let you choose when you wanted to apply it - so this is a problem unique to XIV, you can't really bring other games into the picture.

It's not the end of the world if my PGL or ARC gets some bonus XP, true, especially given the way mob XP calc works to get everyone in a sufficiently long PT within a level of each other, but I'd much prefer to save up my rested XP for a long Mining session rather than feeling like I'm wasting it on DoW or feel like I have to do a bunch of Mining leves before my LS goes XPing.

I'm not sure who would be hurt by a rested XP toggle or why anybody could possibly even think of getting butthurt about this other than 'it's the XIV forums, someone has to argue', really.

So I have to stand around doing nothing just to not use it on classes i don't want to use it on.
Why not just change to your class you want to level to 50, make some level 40 leve until your rested exp is empty if you don't find a exp party instead of just sitting around in town. Exp is exp and after this you can change to a crafting class.
And no, i don't think 6k exp each leve is slow.

Or, how about change to the class you want to level to 50 and do it the obvious way?
