well you could tag existing items as "Head or face" slot you really wouldnt have to remake them, or just make completely new items that are purely cosmetic (or both of these )

i totally agree with this idea.
masks, glasses, warpaint(new item) should be face items

This idea is doubly interesting since if they can do warpaint, it would probably just be a sidestep away from implementing a full range of makeup styles, which would suddenly make their absence from character creation a non-issue.
I would say that warpaint, make-up and facial tattoos (since they really aren't an "item" and are just an additional overlay texture on the face) should be added to as character creation options, and not as items. I would still allow changing them at the "barber shop" or whatever option they'll allow to change hairstyles and similar details, pretty much like CCP is planning to do with EvE Online (you can change facial tattoos/decoration and hairstyles at any time, but you can't change your actual facial structure after the initial creation).
This because 2D face decoration (tattoos, warpaint, makeup, scars and whatever) shouldn't IMHO be an alternative to 3D items like glasses and such. Having both should be possible.

I support this idea. ^^ Down the road sometime when SE has time to, it would be very nice to see this happen.

NPCs have it so sweet in this game, what with their silk, golden embroidered gowns, raptor leather onion shoes, and elaborate samurai helmets...![]()

this is something i support, i would love to have a face slot for my goggles, aswell as being able to wear some headgear.
I agree. While adding these options to the "face" slot would solve the problem that Dreamer mentioned, it wouldn't solve it very well. New quirks would arise, such as wanting to wear make-up and glasses at once. Making these 2D options available in the character creation process as well as a barber shop of some sort seems to be the best solution.I would say that warpaint, make-up and facial tattoos (since they really aren't an "item" and are just an additional overlay texture on the face) should be added to as character creation options, and not as items. Yep, it wouldn't even be a bad "solution" as much as a placebo. Actually, I'm pretty much sure that it's easier, development-wise, to just add further features to the character creation than to make separate items for them.I agree. I just want atleast lipstick if they add makeup to a barbershop.
I have to thank Square-Enix for the amazing job they have done recreating Final Fantasy XIV from Scratch. Especially the inclusion of Missing Genders which we petitioned for in good faith. This was proof to us players that the Developers are truly Sympathetic to our requests and that being honest and vocal can pay off with the amazing characters we have who are Female Roegadyn, Male Miqote, and Female Highlanders. Thank You SE, Thank You Community Team, Thank You Yoshi-P.
