Yeah, I agree. Actually, I think it would be cool if they did something like this with screenshots as well. You could even tell me "this is going to be a screenshot of the interior of Ishgard" before even revealing any tiles, and I would be glued to my computer monitor to see the reveal of every new square.

Omega and Ultima have many fairly similar forms in the series. Usually a beast with a tail, 4 legs, 2 hands and relatively recently has wings of some sort.

I didn't want to think it was a weapon at first either but honestly what else in FF has every had that distinctive body structure? I wanted to think it was a weird Bahamut on 4 legs or something similar since that would make more sense based on where we are boss-wise. I figured anything like a weapon would be level 99 content and not coming for quite a while... but the second I saw that right hand, it became difficult to doubt.

Although just because they're showing this now doesn't mean it's going to be in 2.0 at launch. It's still likely to be quite a ways off.

Like I said in that other thread. If that doesn't convince people it's Ultima Weapon, I don't know what does. That sure as hell looks like Ultima Weapon from FFVII and FFVIII. Suirieko is very happy!

If justice is done to Ultima he won't be beaten for a year and then only by the absolute best players on every server.
It deserves no less. Even if he's added to the game with 2.0 I wouldn't mind if he's completely untouchable until an ultimate level cap increase.
