Frustrating thing is....he got the shield: a conjurer who couldn't use it. I'm the 31 gladiator sitting there thoroughly dissapointed and he hasn't even spent a point doing gladiator. After 30 minutes of pleading to get the shield and how I would really appreciate it he proceeds to finally "yield" and ask for a lantern shield in exchange and i said ok. So i port him to limsa lominsa and i get the shield and try to trade...he does nothing...then he logs off. How does one deal with this sort of frustration? I just about tore my eyes out on this one
There are two big determing factors in the winnings here. First off, who spent the faction points on the Leve. If it is someone you do not know, and they spent the points on the leve, you have no leverage to take their points and award, unless they are just really nice.

Second, Did you actually check to see if the shield was useable by DoM? It doesn't matter if there's no points in gladiator. 'Sentinel' is what counts for shield usage. 'Not' Gladiator.

My Conjurer used a notched buckler. Clearly metal. It varies per the shield.
