Suspension of character creation: how long?

In any event, when can we expect an update on whether or not the servers will be unlocked, or if the update has failed to move enough of the population out of Uldah? Or, if world passes will be implemented?

I don't think we'll get the option for server changes before 2.0... When i contacted SE about the server lock and transferring my character so i could play with my friend i got "There is not a way to move characters at this time for any reason, this is simply not something that the system has been set up to do. Again I do apologize." which is unacceptable... I felt like their customer service was trash when they said "If you would like to put this in as a suggestion, there is a form on the support website and we will take it into consideration." Considering it is a basic feature almost all MMO's have now for a next gen MMO that FFXIV is trying to be that is just sad.

The game is basically in a second beta-phase due to the failed launch so the game itself is unfinished. Considering this big plate of problems got thrown in Yoshi's lap, who's just trying to get the game to work at a decent level and rebuilding the entire game structure from scratch at the same time puts world transfers lower on the priority list. They did say they were going to add it towards the 2.0 launch, but until then it's just something were going to have to deal with.
