I think they saw a majority of VFX mods are just returning deleted skills and are making a system for those skills to live on.

I don't expect much beyond that.

But even if they went as far as some of the VFX mods did and made it an entirely new job visually, you're still stuck with the exact same gameplay. And if that gameplay is flat out boring then new flashy spell effects will not fix it, they will at best delay your boredom by a few days.
