Yeah... that way we could drink mai tais on the beach at lvl 50 while watching the crabs stroll by... Maybe if there was a reason not to PL straight to 50 the maps and camps could actually be used and enjoyed as leveling grounds (remember FFXI?) instead of "oooh ahhh lookie tropical paradise i think ill go spam enter craft there".

I never said I hate nice scenery, matt of fact I love it. I would love to see more of it too. Most importantly I would love to see FUNCTIONAL nice scenery, as in, scenery that is nice but that also has a purpose other than being pretty... It's not hard to understand. The sad part about this game is, defacto Powerleveling, SE has rendered 90% of their game useless. All of those maps they built, all of the mobs they made, pretty much anything pre lvl 50 has been made useless by PLing. It's just damn sad. Don't you ever think about how many human hours have been poured into so much stuff that no one bothers utilizing because they can PL to 50 in 1 day? It's just pitiful. I don't want more useless junk. I know SE implemented PLing so as to coax player's friends into joining them (ie subsriptions) for end game content, but this has backfired. My twin brother, for one, has no interest in this game because of PLing - and he had 75 rdm in FFXI before they raised the cap.

    TLDR:

EDIT: ONE MORE THING: if you look at the FFXIV forum header at the top of this page, you see a background landscape consisting of a waterfall the size of niagra falls, WHERE EXACTLY CAN I FIND THIS IN GAME? False advertising much?

    Hi Matsume,

Totally agree. Last year when that one excellent forum poster started the thread about World Map Redesign (and the current blandness), I had posted up a thought similar to yours:

SE should've had one of the Guildleve Camps (when they were the focus) be *at* South Bloodshore Beach Area. For those that haven't been there, it's a nice stretch of Beach & Ocean that's unfortunately currently populated with Snippers that can one shot players and home of the infamous Snurble. If they moved different mobs in and made an Aetherial Gate / Camp there (instead of at Bloodshore (above)), it would've helped add some diversity.

But since that time, we've gotten the 2.0 announcement and I have faith in Yoshida-san & his Environment Artists to come up with some beautiful, distinct areas!

I'm sure the maps redesign for 2.0 will be great, i just feel like it's wasted on the fact that players PL through 90% of the maps/content...

I know SE plans on implementing new servers for post 2.0 players and PS3 players alike so that they canplay in a fresh world but I'm afraid this will be useless if PLing if allowed. If SE would make new servers without PLing i would honestly consider rerolling...

Yah, I agree. If they kept EXP Rate as fast as it is now (for 2.0) and had the same methods to PL, it'd be totally wasted.

I'm holding out hope from Yoshida-san's comments on the forums that perhaps the accelerated EXP Rate currently is mainly to help new players enjoy the current Max Level Content sooner, and that it'll be slowed down when 2.0 hits.

If 2.0 Launches with New Classes / Jobs, slightly slower EXP Gains for Leveling, and the World Redesign truly features the Landmarks / Unique Characteristics that's being hinted at, etc., nice new Mobs / Camps, that'll be the most anticipated aspect of 2.0 for me.

I'd love to level a new Class / Job when 2.0 launches and play with fellow adventurers exploring the new Eorzea.
