There are literally a plethora of areas that could add to the game, most of which all lie on Eorzea itself, without even considering the other kingdoms and landmasses that are mentioned by NPCs or in the game's lore.

Abalathia's Spine, The Farreach, Gir Abania, Xelphatol, Paglith'An, O'Ghomoro(not to be confused with the stronghold), Dravania, and plenty of named islands and other landmasses all over.

You'll get your beach areas eventually.

It was fun and exciting on your first few jobs. Then it became a terrifying domain of buttersheep, newbs and noobs. Nothing against newbs, but like the buttersheep and the noobs, they frightened me.

But, but... Brady wouldn't lie to me! Or be 10 years out of date!

Edit: On topic, I expect we'll see a lot of good, interesting terrain in 2.0. If not, well, SE is in a lot of trouble. But I am quite hopeful.

Or the one with mobs on you cant really go to without being 1shotted and there is nothing on it.

A tropical beach would be nice, with boats and stuff. Bit like what we have seen in some cutscenes.
Right, there isn't any beaches in Thanalan, it's surrounded by mountains and craters. You get a hot,dry wind and dust-storms in your face. If you remember coming in for the first time from Limsa L. by boat, you didn't see anything tropical about the coast(it's all rocky and dead). Nothing tropical about your generic cactus. L.L. was bad then Thanalan would be x10 worse!

The only thing posable is that we recieve an update in the far(if not distant) future expansion area south of Thanalan,(6,6 on the Eorzea map). The Black Shroud (to the east 3,8~10) would def be a better idea for "tropical beaches". Geez ppl, learn basic geometry. Other continents should'nt be too far away by boat or airship....

Also, looks to me like La Noscea and the Black Shroud are equatorial regions, that might explain the jungle like envrionement of Gridania. As for La Noscea, kind of hard to reason with it's lack of tropical/subtropical forests considering it's an island...

Having a hard time finding a bigger map of Hydaelyn:

My only valid argument ITS FANTASY

Also there is a big thing in the sky, looks like this: . about to change things, Thanalan might not be so dusty, i mean Coerthas is getting covered in snow, anything can happen............................................

    Hi Matsume,

Totally agree. Last year when that one excellent forum poster started the thread about World Map Redesign (and the current blandness), I had posted up a thought similar to yours:

SE should've had one of the Guildleve Camps (when they were the focus) be *at* South Bloodshore Beach Area. For those that haven't been there, it's a nice stretch of Beach & Ocean that's unfortunately currently populated with Snippers that can one shot players and home of the infamous Snurble. If they moved different mobs in and made an Aetherial Gate / Camp there (instead of at Bloodshore (above)), it would've helped add some diversity.

But since that time, we've gotten the 2.0 announcement and I have faith in Yoshida-san & his Environment Artists to come up with some beautiful, distinct areas!
