Here's a thought for SE, not sure if anyone else suggested it yet: A toolbelt for one of the unused inventory slots that can be used for cross-class repairs. Make it hold "charges" that can be refilled with dark matter at a NPC. It could be a great money sink too (I love my money too but there's not much to spend it on); Who wouldn't buy a U/U cross-class repairing tool from a NPC?

Although yes you can use NPC repair for everyday fixes, most of the time I repair myself or put in repair request bazaar so I can resell it. Would really love cross-class repairing because it's a real pain to switch classes out in the field and have all your skills go on cooldown.

I think it would be sufficient that if you have the tools in your inventory and are of the correct level, you shouldn't have to change class to repair stuff. That way you can satisfy someone's repair-all request without having to change 4 different times to fix their stuff.

pretty cool idea but I think there is plenty of stuff to spend gil on, gear, food, materia, airships, npc repair, craft buffs, resources and even ayther passes if you dont want to use seals

I like the repair system. I find it a good way for a crafting class at a lower level to make money as some 25-30 armor is in the range of 15-20. We can't really sell anything in that level range.

If one can repair their gear, why would they pay an NPC up to 5k per item to do it for them? That's silly.

It isn't a lazy issue, it's a bad mechanic issue.

Well I guess laziness can play a part, but sounds like you are trying to justify keeping it the way it is because "people can't be this lazy".

I really dont like this idea. The jobs are setup so they have purpose, uniqueness and stand out from the others....why should doh be any different? If you wanna repair your gear, switch to the proper job and required level to fix it, and its fixed. it may be annoying to you, but I think the game loses a bit, by making it so you can repair w/o switching jobs. It makes things waay too easy.
