Do you honestly know what Instance Housing is? You would be in your own pocket dimension.
There would be no need for a demolition system or timer, because there is no scarcity.
Challenge the weak to make them strong.

Let me know when I can send out a submarine from my apartment. Thanks!

I wasn't talking about the instance housing. I was talking about the wards. Are the demolition timers for the current players who will already there going to be turned off?
Since equivalent instance housing is available, why leave a subsection of the players on the demolition timer. If they don't need to be?

Hey questionWhen your boss has take a break and you put in for your 1 week paid time off.How much time do you get on that one week?Paid a time off to relax?I feel like SE just really doesn't know how to design good systems in an MMO setting. I have played both XI & XIV since always, and they have a long history of implementing systems & features in the most convoluted ways possible.
If their intent was to truly trap people in a sub, I don't think they would have come out with the following statement ages ago when housing was first being released:
Granted, this far into the game they may be a bit sad to see the housing tether go away, but Yoshi P is on record (many, many times) encouraging people to take breaks, play other games, etc. It's a bit of a slap in the face when the lead guy is telling you to take breaks........but be sure to pay your sub so that you don't lose your house!
Do you work a standard forty hour schedule? Because if you do I find it hard to believe that you can manage. A full-time schedule only 1 week off a year and you're complaining about a video game that gives you one month off every month. You don't have to be here for more than two minutes. Don't you have time sensitive bills? You pay on time?
You guys need to take accountability. We work under four more intense constraints , and players are acting like this is nigh impossible but manage to punch in without fail for 150 hours a month but cant login for 2 minutes once every 45 days.

he's going to grift, harass, downplay, disenfranchise, gaslight, stalk, and gate keep!
Here me out. Instead of blaming the player, we could instead put pressure on the devs of this super popular, successful game known as FFXIV to ensure that their housing is up to snuff. They are the ones who initially claimed housing wouldn't demo if your sub lapsed, and they are also the ones who created such a poor housing system involving incredibly scarce availability that would never meet player needs.Hey questionWhen your boss has take a break and you put in for your 1 week paid time off.How much time do you get on that one week?Paid a time off to relax?

Instanced Houses doesn't really mean we need to change anything about the ward system. This game loves redundant systems, we have 3 individual systems for running dungeons with NPCs, and Beastmaster is looking to be a 4th (with more flavor at least). We could keep the wards as they are and add instance houses on top of that.I wasn't talking about the instance housing. I was talking about the wards. The demolition system can be kept in place for wards too to make sure they're still available for those who want them. You do get that big public yard that I'm constantly told people visit all the time too so fairs fair.

Everyone loves to point fingers. Until you point them back. You can make a parallel system, but if you make the rules by design flexible to achieve the same outcome in effectively a copy system. You've created inequality as a byproduct but you've achieve equity. Here me out. The entire idea of this suggestion is to give yourself an equivalent plot and taking the demolish timer pressure off you so you arnt subjected to it. But everyone already in the plot still is. SO it gives you a chance to take their plot if they slip up.
At that point you're proving my point that it was never about creativity. But prestege. Because even if you try and solve the problem, it was never about the creativity to begin with, it was about having something someone else doesn't.

Perhaps I was getting ahead of the thread with my original comment about instanced wards, but I would be fine with expanding apartments to let us choose either a S, M or L interior. I imagine some people might not think it's fair that apartment dwellers can get the same interior space, but they would be losing out on gardening, exterior decorating, and a more personal hang-out spot. So ehhh.
Overall, I'm still fond of the idea of dropping a meteor on the housing system as it is, and create something that will allow ALL players (and FCs) the chance to have equal housing opportunities. A Housing Reborn, lets go.

My suggestion would be bumping Plot up to a Tier 4 with its own set of unique layouts and trickle the base plot sizes to AptsPerhaps I was getting ahead of the thread with my original comment about instanced wards, but I would be fine with expanding apartments to let us choose either a S, M or L interior.
