    No, it won't.

    Instances housing, would solve housing.

Island Sanctuary could of solved housing if they had gone further with it.

But no. Your stuck with this trash, failure of a system. Whole wards owned my ONE person or Free Company, massively expensive plots, and lottery system just to make sure you have another barrier, and a Dev team that can't keep up with demand at ANY capacity.

I know it, You know it, SE knows it.

So how do you plan on solving the demolition issue? Is your playing to turn off the ward timers as well along with the instance timers?

Or are we simply gonna say? Give me instance housing and leave the ward timer on, leaving a subsection of players to hold the bag so some players don't have to hold it at all.

Cause, I noticed the players tend to get quiet when you asked them this question. One at least was willing to admit they're fine with players being forced to pay a sub to keep their plot so they dont have to.

So are we practicing a consistency of rules, or are we willing to break consistant applicable rules. So we can create a two tiered class system , so that it's equitable?

    That's the thing.

The question is, why people wanted instanced housing in the first place: Was it because free plots were rare or non existend on some worlds, so they hoped to finally get a house with instanced housing? Or was it because they already had a plot and hoped with instanced housing they can unsub for more than 45 days?

Nothing hinders Square Enix to put a demolishing timer on potential instanced housing as well to free up server space, keep players subbed or whatever. So maybe from instanced housing would just benefit people who couldn't get a plot (they want) on overpopulated worlds but not those who want to unsub for several months or years.

Edit: Nontheless you could always buy a new instanced plot once the old one got demolished but the items are gone.

Do you honestly know what Instance Housing is? You would be in your own pocket dimension.

There would be no need for a demolition system or timer, because there is no scarcity.

I wasn't talking about the instance housing. I was talking about the wards. Are the demolition timers for the current players who will already there going to be turned off?

Since equivalent instance housing is available, why leave a subsection of the players on the demolition timer. If they don't need to be?

Instanced Houses doesn't really mean we need to change anything about the ward system. This game loves redundant systems, we have 3 individual systems for running dungeons with NPCs, and Beastmaster is looking to be a 4th (with more flavor at least). We could keep the wards as they are and add instance houses on top of that.

The demolition system can be kept in place for wards too to make sure they're still available for those who want them. You do get that big public yard that I'm constantly told people visit all the time too so fairs fair.

Oh so working backwards from your conclusion to justify screwing over a subsection of players to keep them vulnerable to being removed off their plot so players can vulture ward plots without threats to their own instanced plot.

That's why you want to keep the demo timer active for Ward players, but turned off for instanced houses. It gives you security while keeping anyone with a Ward plot at risk of losing it.

But you've proved my point this was never about equal opportunity, its using "equity" as a Trojan horse for prestige.

Don't say the demo timer is bad, and in the next breath say "But this group of player needs to keep it"

that's self serving. But I appreciate your honesty.

If SE did go the route of a fully-instanced, safe from demolition ward, they could simply make it a free transfer for existing homeowners if that sounds more appealing to them. It would be up to each individual person to decide if they want to keep paying a sub for whatever extra perks a "real" plot may offer, or simply jump ship and go instanced.

Nothing about this is for prestige, simply trying to think of ideas to make housing more fair for all - and also more inline with their original statement about never having to keep an active sub to keep your house.

As an aside, it sounds like you think only homeless people are after this change. I have a house. In all my years playing, I've owned about 10 different houses, all different sizes and in different locations. Every single ward was absolutely dead. The most activity I've seen is in my current house where I have two people that stand AFK practically all day at the summoning bell, and that's it. Having a large number of owners per plot could help make them feel a bit more lived instead of the massive empty zone most of us experience.

Nothing about what I said bars ward house owners from having an additional instanced house as well. As I see it, they are separate systems. If you want the liminal space ward feeling, you get to deal with the demolition timer. Otherwise they'll fill up once forever and never ever ever be available again.
And still no one would visit lol.

I'm just curious, do you seethe this much over apartments not having a timer too? Because the only difference I'm seeing here is apartments would have a yard they can put outdoor decorations in.
