can just as well have 1 npc for all 3 wards together.. that way i dont have to talk to 3 npc's.

The wording on it seems a little vague. The question could either be: One mercantile ward, 1 NPC, all 3 ward listings or one merchantile ward, 3 NPCs, one for each city ward listing.
While it would be awesome to have the first option, the second one is what is being discussed here.
Same difference, the Mercentile is basicaly an additional instance for the Market ward in that area which means it's connected to LL/Grid/Ulda Market Ward. Because of how it's setup it's impossible to have one instance where you can search in all 3 areas. That's why when a Market ward breaks down all of the areas including the mercantile break because it's in the same area as the market ward itself.
If they were able to have it where you could have 3 NPC in one instance they would have done that but it just isn't possible atm, or it may take more time then just simply adding 3 instances to search from.
If you ever notice if you try to teleport from a mercantile it'll always have any area you select as 6 since they most likely didn't want people exploiting the fact that they are technically in LL or technically in Gridi or ulda while in said mercantile.
Good suggestion OP but why did you post it in the wrong section?

i don't think thats a solution because 1 ward will need to hold all the load then and it will crash
you could speculate that most people anyway go always to uldah ward...
i think they need another solution overall
i like the retainer where you can see stuff but retainers are also heavy load
What is with you people that can't read? How many times do they need to say that they cannot combine the wards until 2.0?
The market system has come a long way from its original shambled state. It is fine the way it is until 2.0.
This feature is almost useless for selling anything as if you try to send to an Ul'dah ward, your retainer just bounces back. Why send it to an Ul'dah ward? Because people are still too stubborn not to use that as the primary market.

I don't believe this thread is asking for a combined MW. What it's asking for is to have all 3 Merchantile Ward NPCs (1 for each city) in the same Merchantile Ward instead of having it spread out over 3. Still accessing the city wards separately but all 3 NPCs are in the same zone.
The one thing that would solve all of this....
MAKE MORE ROOM IN ULDAH FOR RETAINERS. Or at least limit each player to one retainer / city. I started playing this game a little over a month ago, and I can't get a retainer in uldah because every ward is full. I have a retainer full of stuff in Gridania, but haven't sold anything in 2 weeks. I check the uldah market and everything on my retainer would have sold in a day if it were there. Unfortunately, every player on my server has maxed out retainers and put them in the uldah wards as a mule. So those of us who are new to the game are going to stay completely broke because the ward system fails.
they already said that's what they wanted to do, but they cant... server limitations yadda yadda...I have made a thread here: One Ward THREE NPC's
Which basically states the need to abolish the current three ward system in favor of a single ward with three NPC's
Please go look at it and voice your support! Thank you!
EDIT: Please don't forget to post on the thread made above as this is where the look for suggestions
