    Current cover is for memes, hardly a "OT" designed ability. Not to mention combat design could change in Everclear. Bosses might start targeting healers and dps with tank busters that require the PLD and 8.0 tank to intervene/cover, and they said the new "MTs" will be better at taking damage.

    Damnation's counter/thorns damage is so pathetic in Savage, it barely accounts for half a percentage worth of damage. It's not even worth the consideration why WARs should be MTs.

    It's not gonna be 1%. Or well, to be more accurate, it's probably going to end up being a range somewhere between 10% and 1% that varies job to job. I think they'll likely shoot for a 3-5% difference but will they hit that mark across the board given that they are now kinda locked in to supporting 44 rotations? Doubtful.

    My initial impressions of the mode split is that it invokes a lot of curiosity! I am immediately really interested in seeing whatever they have cooking. From a high level perspective though, I think that ultimately it's kinda just gonna suck and the new car gloss will wear off by 8.2. It just... looks like a lot of problems they already solved are coming back. People might be bustin over sky high now but will they feel the same in 3 months when the reality that it's a button you push and your reward is 5 seconds of doing nothing? Will the triple positional remain cool and inique or will the handful of giant bosses with fat hitboxes make that whole system a pain in the ass and hard for average gooners to handle?

    It makes sense for them to do the mode split so if random evolve modes end up being really disliked, those players can fall back to their old rotation (calling it now, bards, dancers, red mages and ninjas are all about to get the smn remake experience) but if they botch the dps balance the community's going to be a pile of shit about it and that sucks and is frankly not worth the risk imo, even if the hype now is big.

    Really hope they take some risks with the new Evolved system. That's my only want in the end, don't be afraid of changing things.

    There doesn't seem to be any double weaving with the jobs we saw, so there's really no need to keep it so long

    I don't think it would take 9 months for it to lose the new car smell, assuming that what they showed of DRG is the standard (or even worse, the peak) for DPS.

    Yeah because rote memorization rotations tailored made for literal bots is the pinnacle of "skill", even the bosses stand still every 1-2 minutes so you can play piano before going back to hitting 1,2,3 over and over again. Now instead of having a bunch of bloat on your hotbar that you hit once every 1-2 minutes you have fewer buttons you can hit more often where you actually have to be reactive instead of just hitting the same buttons in a specific order. Most of the people complaining or those who actually liked the old system probably use combo and rotation plugins to begin with, probably worried they won't look as "good" anymore.

    Mr. Prime saved this game, now we can actually look forward to something besides a 2 minute finisher every expansion and jobs will actually feel like more than a different skinned resource spender.

    I think some people are so desperate for something new and fresh over the 2 minute meta they are willing to cut down everything to get to it.

    I don't think this is the right approach. Like the healer identity they want for me as a Whitemage is to "Just heal" fair enough, but what am I healing? If the fights design doesn't change what am I healing and to that extent why remove things like Assize, Cure 3 or Asylum?

    That has less to do with rotation ease as it is I use certain spells to help keep people alive and I'm getting an arm surgically removed I'll still be able to play just fine with my arm cut off but I must ask... why did you cut off my arm?

    People are complaining because the one slide they showed with MT and OT has PLD and the 8.0 tank on top of the MT bubble and WAR DRK and GNB over OT. That's the basis for that to my knowledge.
