    Yoshi please buff smn...

    I was there. I played as a ruin mage and I played as a dot mage and I will say this iteration of smn is a lot more appealing. But I'm not going to sit here and say that this is the dream smn role playing. It's argueable to say the least...like no really... So this is how I would fix Summoner.

    DMG!!!
    Just more dmg across the board...HOLY its not even close. smn is barely out dpsing ranged physical and redmage has more utilities than us...look at the dmg statistics for the new savage... https://www.fflogs.com/zone/statistics/73 ...like either give us more utilities or remove them and just give us more dmg...

    Carbuncle opened up a store called Carby Utilities
    Speaking of utilities (if were going to keep them)..WHY ARE WE COMMITING A WHOLE BUTTON TO A SOLAR BAHAMUT HEAL...Like its not even on my hotbar that's how bad it is....If it was an off global super carbuncle summon just to heal...At least that would be on my hot bar because it's carby....Also while I'm on that topic, why is carby just not our rez. I mean were commiting a whole global to it, lets give carby some action. I'm sure everyone wants to see the grim reaper when they die but instead they see a carby on top of them giving shock therapy.

    Regardless of dmg, Garuda/Titan/Regular Bahamut/phoenix is fine for the most part just small things...
    Ifrit - The Ifrit charges are fine...It's the two casts that I have issues with...like just make them instant Ifrit claw slash/punches. Thrown slashes or not...I legit don't understand the point of having the dashes just to do point blank casts...visa versa
    Titan - Small detail but when you summon titan why doesn't he shatter the ground he lands on...Titan's thick boi...I believe he does than in his fight (could be wrong).
    Garuda - Garuda is fine??? I can't really think of anything...
    Phoenix - same.
    Bahamut - Same. Akmorn feels great. Give us a third one...I want to replicate coils mechanic with stacking akmorns.
    Solar Bahamut - Complete opposite to its sibling...feels too floaty. no weight to the akmorns. Hell make him come out and ONLY SPAM AKMORN. Like how do we replicate/cause the trauma that bahamut caused on eorzea. Remove solar bahamut heal. Not sure why he has a heal...

    I'm sure everyone has said this but...MORE SMNS...This was a given...
    After smning regular bahamut/phoenix, instead of garuda/titan/ifrit. we get 3 other gems....IDK Ramuh/leviathan/odin???

    Good news, they are increasing Summoner's damage in 7.41 with the following:

    Searing Flash - Potency has been increased from 600 to 700.
    Umbral Impulse - Potency has been increased from 620 to 640.
    Umbral Flare - Potency has been increased from 280 to 300.
    Sunflare - Potency has been increased from 800 to 1,000.

    SMN, while being the most brainless class ever created, was getting dangerously close to rphys levels of bad damage, and evidently we couldn't have a caster be there, so it had to be buffed in an emergency.

    oh but "PCT is just as easy as SMN because PCT has Smudge while SMN's forced to gap close", or so I've been told from the JP board.

    which I guess is a problem if you're terrible at preplanning, which is like the entire and only gimmick of EW SMN.

    I mean, one role gets shafted in damage numbers while the other gets shafted in their gameplay (at least two of them).
    I don't think there is a winner or looser here.

    Theres no role that gets "shafted" melee is so much easier than physical ranged and casters now in high end content every strategy used is melee full uptime just pressing their buttons. DNC and BRD are full focus on the procs the songs the dots melee is the easiest role in the game in high end content and for some reason SE has decided it should do more damage its just ridiculous to be honest. Casters should be at the top at least the casters that need to cast, physical ranged next and melee last in terms of damage

    I’m happy about the buff it got, but really it should be buffed more. Balance should be about utility, not difficulty. Why? Because it’s not a solo game. When you bring a job to a group, the group largely is interested in damage and utility, not how easy it is to play for that person. As summoner is not the caster with the most utility, it should not do the least damage, or else why would a group ever want it?

    Also, anyone calling it “brainless” must only use it against a training dummy, as it is a job that gets its difficulty from the fight rather than from its rotation.

    This isn't quite so clean-cut, as you can see from the swaths of Summoners and ease of finding PRanged on new fights: As these jobs are more mobile and Summoner in particular has less oGCDs to weave, their chances of wiping the groups due to missing mechanics is somewhat~significantly lower.

    While mostly a problem when progging, this also exists afterwards. Jobs that are, for lack of a better word, "easier" cause less wipes, ultimately improving reliability and hence speed of reclear evenings. This effect is an actual upside of bringing that job, one that has to be balanced somehow in other jobs that have more stuff to fit between mechanics or can less readily pre-position and move early.

    It's not a huge effect of course, and I certainly don't disagree that SQEX overdoes it right now, but the effect still exists. As evident, like I said, by how group compositions change as tiers age.
