You guys might just need to play on Primal or Dynamis. Scary thought, I know.

Bring back 6.0 Dragoon.
They don't deserve subs for a game that doesn't work eitherHot take. Use this time to touch grass and play other games. FFXIV will always be there whenever you want it. You can say moot point because new savage tier is out. Okay then data center travel somewhere else? I see most raiders are data center hopping to Dynamis because it has a smaller player count and is pretty unaffected by DDoS'ing, at least by the look of streamers not having problems. Also NA isn't the only people suffering from this, I raid on OCE servers and had constant DDoS'ing issues last night with the raid release. It'll be okay, gamers. They are having to deal with it everyday on their end, too. You don't deserve a reward for them having problems.

What does Dynamis and Primal have to do with anything? ALL NA servers are getting DDos'd. That includes Dynamis and Primal servers. Better to keep your ideas to yourself if you don't know what you're talking about.
You heard wrong.![]()

People, they're not gonna do this. Even if the experience sucks and they know it. Most of you are going to put up with this too. And they know it.
All we can do is wait and hope whoever they contract networking with figures this out.
Below we have a transcription of what Naoki Yoshi-P Yoshida said at PAX:
- "For some players, like me, I kind of get sleepy because it's so repetitive."
Their provider is NTT, a JP based company who has no interest in helping NA at all, because frankly SE isn't covering NA servers like they are the JP servers who have DDoS mitigation.
I've said this a hundred times - they do not care about NA opinion, influence, ideas, gripes, complaints, status or issues.
And like others I don't understand why someone would recommend Primal (heavily congested DC on NA) or Dynamis (part of another NA DC) when every NA data center is being attacked. Whoever that 'source' is that is saying it's not as bad there is clearly delusional and needs to go back to knitting their imaginary sweaters.
Oh, I wish that was simpler.
As a cerebral inclined introvert, when your usual go to place is disrupted you realize just how threadbare the world has gotten, especially since Covid.
I live in the inner (i.e., close enough to the city where it's more urban than suburban in structure) suburbs of a major American city. If I want to go out and touch grass, I have forty billion choices ... IF I'm interested in hookups, alcohol, tobacco, or gambling. All the cool places (except like, ONE place that specializes in Magic which I don't have anywhere near the kind of money for these days)? Gone, but here's yet another cigarette shop or video slots! Like that's any comfort.
Any kind of hobby event at the local library or such? Nope, those are explicitly stated as only for kids in a certain age range. No chess club for you unless you're 8-16. Not that it would do any good, chess is so child-prodigy based these days that you wouldn't be able to beat the grade schoolers anyway. Heck, I've sometimes surmised that the often reviled child protection laws on the internet are about the only thing keeping us old farts in the running in video games, either LOL.
Other games? Even as an introvert, one still needs a level of social contact. MMOs have almost gone. It is this and WoW. LOTRO is a withered husk, SWTOR nearly so (plus, playing SWTOR without an active sub is self torture, doubly so if you want to hang out there because the chat rate limiter for non-subscribers is insane). Most everything else has either gone to hardcore PvP, is a P2W fest or both ...
Tempo is important, especially if you don't have an understanding static. It's already to the point that patches are noticeably rougher lately and need more emergency maints, presumably because delaying patches results in much more hue and cry now that it's reached the point where it's almost a norm for folks to use PTO etc. to make sure of making time for the content on its schedule rather than their own.FFXIV will always be there whenever you want it.
Because despite Yoshi's advice, especially if you have to use PF, it's a night and day experience difference if you get in on the honeymoon or not.
And since we aren't getting 8.0 till after JP Fanfest, that's a LONG time to have one's endgame crippled ...
NA is all in one physical location, so all of NA experiences DDOS at the same time, practically speaking. Apparently whoever's doing this does in fact have a specific animus towards NA FFXIV players and has realized that OCE is an outlet so now they are getting it as well ... I'm glad I at least took the time to craft my 770 on OCE during the first week of the patch.Okay then data center travel somewhere else?

That can become particularly annoying when the queue to (re-)connect that was sub-50 before this patch is now 900+
