I mean either way, you're just going to blame the healer for not fully healing you or for the rescue attempt.

Not at all. I have bloodbath, shadeshift, feint and second wind. I'm making this thread because I was farming the new EX, and after the 5th successful kill the healer randomly decided to rescue me and cause me to die because they didn't like where I was standing during twisters for the past 5 kills despite it not killing anyone. At any point they could have said "Hey, can you move to this spot instead?" but instead they chose the power trip option of just yanking me away and executing me without warning.

Did you ask them about the rescue afterwards? I would hope you didn't remain silent.

If someone is abusing the skill causing intentional PK then they are breaking the rules, if they're also intentionally power tripping it's best to report them. It's not much different from tanks shoving aggro onto a random guy just before a TB because they don't like *that* player.

I'm personally not against an opt-out for rescue but the problem that you and other people are experiencing will still persist.

I asked them why they did that as I was dead on the ground, and they just said "don't stand there". They tried to stack me with everyone else, but they rescued late so I took every twister and died. Needless to say I left the party immediately afterward. I was having fun farming the fight up until that point.

It's like the people who despise Rescue cares more about the button than the actual "Rescue Mages".

The only thing I'd agree of all spoken things from this thread would be improving the response time & make it so the camera don't look like something's physically yanking you because yes, that is visually disorienting & is part of the reason why I dislike being rescued in general (but can still understands why they happens outside trolls). I use it sparingly & had only failed it exactly once in 5.3 in my 'practice days'. That MCH was upset understandably so I just apologized immediately after and made clear of my intent. I get the most use out of it by pulling careless DPS out of their LB animation when a mechanic's happening and it's SATISFYING to witness both the damage going out & they still get to live.

I can understand the pov of both sides but, I will not budge on this, you canot take it out without replacing it with something either just as good or better. I am sick to bastard death of my fave jobs being picked apart and dumbed down. It cannot keep happening.

Also, you cannot include an 'opt out' because that means in duties where your entire team is rescue proof, or even just half and they're all the people who would need it, you don't have rescue anymore & it's the same as removing it.

So either leave it be or add in something that is the same level of engagement.

An ability that removes the agency of other players should be able to be ignored if you choose to. There are too many cases where this can be misused and abused. Why should be you be able to drag me across the arena (trolling or not) if I don't want that?

Because its a thing you can do in the game? Idk? I'm not interested in this argument. If you don't like the ability, fine, but you need a better solution than deleting it without giving healers anything in return. Making it opt-outable is just deleting it half the time without giving anything in return.

Dragging players around senselessly isn't really a good example of something to do. How about they make the healer rotation more than just 2 buttons? That would be a more healthy way to improve the healer experience than allowing them to kill their party members with rescue and ruin the other person's fun.
