    Occult crescent has been a massive disappointment for creativity. Which makes sense looking at the general direction of the game.

    You want fun intresting Phantom job actions too bad.
    You want passives/skills that could possibly change a role from a tank to a healer, healer to dps ECT. too bad

    Its so insane to me that bozja had limited use actions and potions which were dumb but actually pulled off a more creative version then OC which should have been a improvement on bozja, they also have 5 extra skills to work with instead of 2, yet Bozja's job customization is 100x better.

    I just wish they made this side content have creative builds considering we can't have anything interesting happen to jobs in the base game or raiders will rage and cry that jobs are unique.

    I have to say the addition of Ultra potion made the survavibility a litte better, but you still can get killed only by raid wides if your heal sucks or there is no heal in your party (something you don't have any kind of control). I'm not gonna push further (I already made a thread on why I though OC was a miss), but this is another miss for me. I'm really curious about the japanese reaction to thos drop-rates.

    And that's not even talking about the stupid (only 20 people can get pot fate). Everything in OC is made to get frustrated.
    I'm guessing they wanted to supplant rays with buffs provided by specific jobs from knowledge crystals. I would still prefer rays from Bozja.

    The problem is that because of the buff limit most of those end up being a hinderance anyway.

    Romeo’s is basically useless for everyone since nobody levels by mob chaining and even gold farming parties have basically died since pots started giving gold. Fleetfooted is really only useful overworld exploration and shell is basically built into forked towers expected mitigation plan anyway since neither armour nor mastery stacks give defence.

    So the only one that has counted anything is DNC’s one

    And the new freelancer skill basically makes them meaningless anyway since it can just reset all 4 with zero effort anyway

    You can tell how little creativity went into the sets because the special attribute that only works in OC is literally named 'Special Attribute'. It's like they shipped it with a placeholder name and never updated it.

    For the OP, Berserker's ability (where you go mad and autoattack for big damage) does prevent knockbacks, mind controls, etc. Beyond that, I agree, there could be far more creativity in these sets, given they're side content and balance doesn't matter as much

    I'd like to see them do a Relic Armour grind where we augment the AF gear throughout the series. Like Anemos (letting us dye the AF) but with actual progression instead of 'you can now dye it' as the final reward.

    Give us a 3/5 set bonus for each Job, that gets higher values at each upgrade level. For example:

    WAR 3 set: Each time you use a weaponskill, Equilibrium's CD is reduced by 1 second.
    WAR 5 set: Each time you spend Beast Gauge, you gain a stack of 'Bestial Frenzy'. For each stack you have, your GCD is decreased by 1%. Gaining a new stack refreshes the duration.

    GNB 3 set: When Brutal Shell is broken or expires, automatically Draw a Cartridge from the targetted enemy, and reduce Aurora's CD by 5 seconds.
    GNB 5 set: Double Down can now be followed up by Fire Cross by using Continuation after Double Down. Fire Cross has the same AOE as Double Down, and deals 400p to all enemies in its AOE.

    SGE 3 set: When a SGE barrier breaks, it is replaced by 'Second Opinion' for 6 seconds. Pepsis can consume Second Opinion to heal the target for 300p. Phlegma and Psyche trigger Kardia on all party members.
    SGE 5 set. Psyche's CD is reduced to 30s. When E.Diagnosis/E.Prognosis breaks, grants Psychosis, allowing for a use of Psyche without regard for its cooldown. Using Psyche reduces the CD of Phlegma by 5 seconds.

    NIN 3 set: Using Fleeting/Forked Raiju grants a stack of 'Raijin's Fury'. All Raijin's Fury stacks are consumed to empower Fuma Shuriken's potency, by 300p per stack consumed. Stacks up to 3 times.
    NIN 5 set: When using Fuma Shuriken, Bunshin's Shadow Clones also use Fuma Shuriken, striking for 100% of your own Fuma Shuriken's potency. If your Fuma Shuriken was empowered by Raijin's Fury, the Clone's is also empowered.


    IDK I'm not exactly the most creative person but I'm sure there's better ideas SE could come up with than just 'Special Attribute'. On the flipside though, this is now the 3rd time they've taken a stab at Chemist (first try became AST/MCH, second try became SGE), at least to my understanding. And OC Chemist is 'you have Benediction on a GCD but it costs 10k per use', 'you have Manafont on a GCD but it costs 10k per use', 'you have Res on a 5s CD (and it's a weaponskill) that is free', and 'you have a partywide Benediction AND Manafont, but it costs 300k per use'. Where's the Mixing, the thing the Chemist is known for? I hate to be the person going 'I could have done better' but like... I actually could, because OC Chemist set the bar so low

    So maybe 'Special Attribute' really is the limit of their creativity with this side content stuff, or maybe they were hoping that the Phantom Job kits would be enough (they're not)

    What constitutes ‘too strong’ in this context, though? Elemental Armor & 7 Magicites are probably the strongest ‘upgrades’ any players can get in Field Contents, but did anybody really complained about not having it?

    Meanwhile in OC there were complaints about tanks being overpowered yet again (is that a surprise atp? lol), but all venues of upgrades they presented to us, none of them offers any ways to alleviate sustain problem on red jobs. Sure, ph.PLD/DNC/Oracle/MNK has those, but what if they want to level other PJs that don’t necessarily have the needed sustains? Armor/Accessory/Job Mastery Stacks could’ve been the solution for these dilemma but alas, they decided not to & opt for dps increase that is not quite noticeable unless you glue your eyes to the popping numbers in-game or somewhere else.

    Funnily enough also: they seemed to avoid adding ANY Skill Speed/Spell Speed at all into these pieces. It was quite fun experimenting & playing around with things like MNK Greased Lightning, NIN's built-in old Futon, BLM Leyline, and WHM's PoM that happens to reduce some phantom actions' timers. We could influence this further when accessories were still ‘free slots’ by using any i700 or higher pieces with SkS/SpS, but now with the inclusion of full OC set, I guess we’re not allowed to get creative with phantom action cooldown & GCD tiering too unless we wanna gimp ourselves, huh?

    Freelancer was the one people hoped for when it comes to mix-matching those actions. There were a lot potentials if they just allow us to have 2-5 slots to pick whichever actions that we have mastered from other PJs with some limitations i.e. no bonus from traits and/or slot 1 only allow the use of first phantom action & no other, slot 2 only allow 2nd phantom action & no other… but alas, lol.

    I’m assuming mime will now get what freelancer was expected to have; the “mimic” ability where it can mimic anyone else else's ability for a short period while they continue to leave freelancer as the proverbial “QOL” job

    As a healer main in this game for nigh on 14 years all I can say is that I’m tired. My role has been eroded of complexity and expression for 3 expansions. I’ve watched the tanks do my role for me for 2 expansions and my feedback and critiques continue to fall on deaf ears.

    I have no idea who modern healers are designed for but I know now it’s not me. This is the first expansion I’m truly considering dropping the healer role and not returning, so if that was the goal- congratulations I guess

    It will be interesting to see what their plans are for North Horn gear. Will in be based on South Horn, or entirely new set. If they're going to keep the old armor and upgrade it to +3, I really think they need an alternative way to get the X-Fixative. If it remains locked behind FT Blood, it's gonna piss off a lot of users. On the other hand, even one full set of +1 armor is a big time investment, so that being replaced in North Horn would also be annoying.

    Personally I would like to see them add OC specific materia for the armors, active only in OC. Could be used for damage taken, damage dealt, healing received, healing done. Would give players some options and customization on gear build. Or it could be an enchantment for the gear, specific for each type (slot and role).

    But the biggest issue with gear, is that you need a PJ with some form of damage ability to really get a real use out of the gear. Sure, the main attribute is nice, but the real value is in the special attribute, and at the moment the following PJs gets nothing from that stat (Knight, Thief, Ranger, Chemist, Geomancer, Bard), or around half of the initial PJs.
