lol Dark Souls is easy if you know boss mechanics. Just like knowing the mechanics in ff14 raids or trials. And “builds” in Dark Souls is the same thing essentially as leveling up and having a class in FF14. Please educate yourself before making ignorant comments. DS fans cheese through fights all the time due to knowledge of the bosses and successful following mechanics in said fights.

Also, you do know that the two Monster Hunter trials, which are ALSO crossover collabs, are harder than the usual stuff in FF14, especially as you can’t heal like normal with abilities, and instead have a limited amount of potions to heal. Even more so, the Dawntrail MH hunt is even harder than the Rathalos hunt in Stormblood, with even harder and more aggressive mechanics. Even in normal, I’ve seen people wipe numerous times EASILY in the Dawntrail MH fight, due to not knowing mechanics.

And even more so, I’ve seen many a time that people wipe in alliance raids and normal raids, ranging from The Crystal Tower raids, to the Deltascape/Alphascape raids (especially with Exdeath), and even as new as the FF11 raids new with Dawntrail.

Your comment is straight ignorance, especially with numerous build variations, in Dark Souls fights you can tank many hits with little punishment. Even more so, learning a boss’s attacks and mechanics is easy, and even more easy to dodge especially if you know how to time dodges. “Let Me Solo Her” the legendary Elden Ring player is major proof that. Beat Malenia without taking a single hit from her while his character was naked with only a helmet for protection.

I’m done having these conversations with people are straight up ignorant.

You do realise I was making fun of the notion that a DS crossover would be too hard right? And due to the way this game is designed, there's room for both a easy and hard fight. Still think I'm an idiot?

Edit: Ok, forget what I just wrote. I'm being too abrasive for no reason.

First, I'm sorry Oblivion for the sarcasm, it was uncalled for. I'll try rewording what I meant in a more respectful way.

Second, the point I was trying to make, is that the perceived difficulty of Fromsoft games is not relevant to the idea of a crossover, simply because we can have both a normal mode of it, and an Extreme/Savage version of the fight. I apologize for being rude.

Monster Hunter doesn’t have a “normal” or “difficult” mode but we still have a crossover TWICE now, and Hunts in MH can be extremely difficult as you progress through the game, especially late endgame monsters. That makes your statement redundant.

And honestly Dark Souls and Final Fantasy 14 both could fit really well together due to these reasons:

    1) Both are medieval fantasy rpgs with weapon and magic combat.

    2) Both have dark, end of the world scenarios, ESPECIALLY FF14. Don’t believe me? How many times have Ascians try to essentially end the world to bring back Zodiark? My point stands. Even more so, Shadowbringers and Endwalker BOTH had a very much darker setting, in addition to people in Endwalker literally getting turned into monsters *because the end of the world.*

    3) Both Dark Souls have punishing mechanics that you need to learn in order to stay alive in the fights. The only real “difference” with Dark Souls doesn’t have AoE markers. But you can ask ANY DS vet about how any and every boss can be once you learn their moves and mechanics. Again just told this someone earlier in the post. Done arguing over that.
If you find bosses hard, it is completely due to you not being knowledgeable on them. And if you have been leveling up and making builds (which can very much be considered the “classes” of DS), you can actually take hits and they aren’t anywhere near as punishing. Again I explained that too. Read the comments before.

    4) It would be able to give us cool bosses from Dark Souls that many fans have loved. Even more so, it’s a great opportunity to bring more cool knight armor sets in, as there are A LOT that were beautifully and well designed. Many FF14 fans have stated they loved the Cryptlurker sets and would love more like them. A Dark Souls collab would be able to do exactly that.

    5) Having a Dark Souls collab alliance/normal raid in FF14, would probably be no different than any other raid, because I guarantee you SE will make sure you have your AoE markers during fights to make it accessible to everyone. Even more so, alliance raids don’t have “normal and harder” versions, at least to my knowledge. I’ve never seen any harder version of an alliance raid. And having an Alliance Raid DS would be able to give us as many bosses from Dark Souls as possible, especially if we have a set of 3 raids.

So to conclude my point, with all due respect, you are wrong. It’d be a great inclusion. There are many FFXIV fans that love and play Dark Souls too. Multiple of them have even commented in this post thread that they’d love would love a collab between the two games. So please, before judging something, please be knowledgeable on it because Dark Souls is very much misjudged and has been feared when honestly it becomes so easy when you play it over time and level up and make builds.

At no point did I say it would be a bad idea to have a crossover with DS. Where did you even get that idea from?

Sorry, I was looking at previous comments and I was debating with other people as well and trying to inform them about Dark Souls. I’ve been getting people mixed evidently. But seriously tho, Dark Souls, especially as an alliance raid set, can definitely be a great crossover. From all similarities of likeness in terms of end of the world scenarios, and both being medieval fantasy games too. And the possibilities about the bosses and armor sets it could bring too.

Alright, glad we got that sorted out. For the record, I've played most Fromsoft games starting with Demon's Souls, excluding Sekiro and Nightreign. I enjoy them a lot, and trying weird less than ideal builds is what I enjoy the most. I don't think the games are that hard, besides a few exceptions like Malenia and Promised Consort. I would be ok with a crossover.

Anyway, I'll drop out of the thread now, have fun.

DS and Elden Ring fans alike do it all the time.
my dude, normal and alliance raids are not difficult in any form whatsoever anymore. they haven't been since stormblood. While I enjoy a few DS games and even Elden Ring itself. just to satisify a few that love the series wouldn't suffice. I do think DS theme dungeons would be nice though.

as sexy as i think my character would look in the dancer armor set,

I feel like bloodborne would be a better choice.
