Even more so, ALL new raids, normal AND alliance raids alike, are always very difficult. But as a DS vet that can actually vouch, once you learn mechanics of ANY boss, it becomes REALLY, extremely easy to the point that it is SUPER easy to cheese through. DS and Elden Ring fans alike do it all the time.
my guy seriously thinks completing MSQ, the focal point of the game, is inaccessible. accessibility is a difficulty scale, not a requisite content scale. normal raids and alliance raids alike are incredibly forgiving and piss easy. cheese nonwithstanding for a bit, you'll notice that the poster upthread also thinks this is a dumb idea. gamerbrosplaining alliance raids and normal raids to me and calling a point invalid because you think FFXIV normal/alliance raids are difficult is... certainly a choice, and why nobody should be engaging with you.

Your comment is completely inaccurate. I’ve seen many a raid team, both alliance and normal raid, wipe completely because people weren’t paying attention to mechanics. Not following mechanics in BOTH kinds of raids are punishing, especially as constantly getting your vulnerability up can make you take seriously more damage. I’ve seen it in raids as simple as the Crystal Tower raids, and I’ve seen in happen in raids as new as the FF11 themed raids in Dawntrail. It especially happened throughout the Alphascape and Deltascape raids when they first launched. Raids are not forgiving when constantly being hit by mechanics that you should be avoiding. But like you said, if you KNOW mechanics, it’s super cheesable. The same exact same is true with DS boss fights. People literally cheese through fight in Souls games all the time like they’re nothing due to knowing the mechanics.my guy seriously thinks completing MSQ, the focal point of the game, is inaccessible. accessibility is a difficulty scale, not a requisite content scale. normal raids and alliance raids alike are incredibly forgiving and piss easy. cheese nonwithstanding for a bit, you'll notice that the poster upthread also thinks this is a dumb idea. gamerbrosplaining alliance raids and normal raids to me and calling a point invalid because you think FFXIV normal/alliance raids are difficult is... certainly a choice, and why nobody should be engaging with you.
Even still go to know your style is bullying a person online because you don’t like their idea. And don’t say you weren’t because that’s exactly what you were doing with “and is why nobody should engage with you.”

Oh and another thing, have you even TRIED the Monster Hunter content IN FFXIV? If you did, you’d know that the MH content is more difficult and more punishing than the usual content in FF14, especially as you can’t heal like normal and have to use potions to heal if you take damage. Not to mention, the new Monster Hunter fight that involves the White Guardian in Dawntrail is filled with more aggressive mechanics than the fight with the Rathalos. So talking about “hard content” in FF14, there’s your proof it can be done.
Can't say I'm personally interested, as I'm not a fan of Dark Souls (or Soulslikes in general).

Removing aspects of the baseline battle system (anemic as it is at present) isn't really a success case for generating proper hard content in my opinion. Similarly I wouldn't call a self imposed 'no potion' rule in a runthrough of VII the difficulty borne by the game itself.
As for the suggestion, ehhh. Would rather just see more Dark Souls inspired gear or plotline than bumble through something like NIER that intrudes in an unsightly manner into the setting. Yes, the horse has bolted but the authority of precedent ain't that compelling 'ere. All these opinions ye can take or leave.
It would be neat if one adjustment of how tough content will be for the crowd was reduction or removal of natural HP/MP regen as an option, though.

I think it'd be cool... I keep thinking of Slave Knight Gael come to Eorzea. Wonder if he'd be drawn to our soul too?
As for aesthetics...I'd love Artorias' armor, Soul of Cinder and hmm Gwyndolin. I can probably keep going... I think a story line where we're piecing together some lore and maybe progressing abit would be interesting though I have little faith in its execution without it being 'too on the nose'.
Also wasn't there a running joke that I think not sure which tome gear in ShB felt bloodborne/DS inspired? One of the scythes for reaper screams Gehrman.
As for fights, I'm not sure. I personally didn't play DS myself and my interest in it has been lore exclusive, but I was one of the people intimidated by the difficulty but ended up falling in love with Bloodborne, I platinum'd it as well. Was really fun with literally one exception (watchdog of the old lords in chalice dungeon on a uh bloodtinge/chikage, was pure skill issue and I didn't want to deal with him anymore after getting him to 15%).
But doesn't a collab mean we have to send someone over from our side?

Ahhhh Slave Knight Gael was such a cool fight though. But yeah, speaking of him, that could most definitely be a way to bring Dark Souls stuff to FFXIV. Kinda like the Painted World of Ariandel maybe. Could maybe do an alliance raid set with that maybe.
But in terms of difficulty, I gotta say once you actually learn the mechanics, it’s practically like playing FF14 minus the AoE attack lines and etc. I can tell you people cheese boss fights all the time because they got the mechanics memorized to a T and so it’s all straight easy. The only thing that would remotely “difficult” besides that is not having builds, but that’s literally NO DIFFERENT than being leveled up in FFXIV.

Also I could definitely see Yshtola, Thancred or Meteor (us the WoL’s kinda canon name) going over. I could definitely see Estinien going over too since he’s a Dragoon knight. There’s definitely plenty of good choices for FF14 characters > into Souls games.
