    All I can say is NTT told me it may not necessarily be them and that just because the route runs entirely through their IPs doesn't mean there aren't other upstream providers involved, nor does it mean that SE is using their DDoS mitigation services.

    As expected they wouldn't be able to say if they actually do use NTT's services because customer relationships are private.

    In any case it shows they don't care in a general sense if DDoS traffic is there unless someone gets their DDoS mitigation services, which may very well be what they are using since they use much the same sort of language such as "countermeasures" that involve the redirection of traffic for scrubbing, but obviously if they are using it, it's not very effective.

    Which would then be the declared desired result. You don't get it: If they aren't going to listen to you when you give them no choice, they don't want you around anyway.

    They either can't or won't.

    And it does not bode well for a complete shutdown of the game on the North American side either way -- which is increasing apparent it may be the only workable solution.

    Bumping and liking for visibility. If you can, like and comment on other threads related to the DDOS/service interruption issue. The more engagement on the forums and Square's socials, the more likely they are to acknowledge and address the issue.

    As many have said, mitigating these issues is easier said than done, but that does not necessarily excuse the lack of a response (beyond the generic lodestone copypasta) or any outward acknowledgement that they are working on achieving a resolution. If it is a DDOS attack, it's not their fault, but it still is their responsibility to try to mitigate the damage. We are paying a subscription fee. If they need better architecture, or to invest in contingencies, then they need to invest in this now; or risk losing returning subscribers. We deserve clarity on the issue, and to know that they are actively working on a solution.

    This could damage the goodwill they have earned with promising new QoL changes and gameplay additions. 7.4 was a fantastic patch, but it won't amount to much in the public theater if people cannot play the content. People are losing progress and crafting ingredients. Some parts of the game are virtually unplayable with frequent disconnects. If they want to garner confidence for 8.0 and reach new players, as well as returning/unsubscribed players, they cannot afford the opportunity cost of bad PR.

    Ikr. just added my voice to it as well today by putting in my own ticket as well. my own patience with this BS is wearing out and coming very close to taking my money elsewhere at this point
