No. Especially since your like me in choosing to hand-level multiple characters.Let me be blunt: it's been over 5 years since I started to play this game. I really don't care about the story anymore. I just want trials and raids unlocked asap.
I'm not interested to do few hours of back and forth every major patch on multiple characters, and I'm even less interested in doing cringy roleplay solo duties with mandatory "oh I will help everyone then will face some big boss that will cast seemingly unavoidable fatal attack but by power of friendship and magic we will cast some giga spell and save ourselves". It was fun one, maybe two times, but when it happens every second patch it becomes outright annoying.
Please give us a button that will just unlock all the patch content immediately. If needed, sell "expansion pass" for like 20 bucks or something that will allow people who buy it press the button and have a patch completed.
Or at the very least, make solo duties optional. They are, at this point of time, nothing more than an irritant.

Do you even do Extreme/Savage/Ultimate content though?Let me be blunt: it's been over 5 years since I started to play this game. I really don't care about the story anymore. I just want trials and raids unlocked asap.

What you paid for is the product they released, which has always been a story-featured game. He didn't pay for a version of the game with no story, which doesn't exist and never has.Topic starter doesn't ask anyone's opinion on whether it's good or bad, he just asks - just give me what I paid for. Give me the opportunity to do what I like without imposing the rest of the content. I think it's fair. Or he'll just go play something else. I've been here since the 2.0 release, and the overgrown story is a problem for new players.

They already cater to the minority of people. People that can't stand being challenged in casual content and are fine with the bare minimum.
Giving some people the option to ignore the story would make no impact. If they hammer the skip button and waste time running form A to B to C and back to A (cause thats what most of the MSQ is), or get one instant skip button.
Also this does not affect anyone else, you get those people in your dungeons... so what?
They do their job and its over and done. If anything I'd prefer those people in my party than hyper-casuals that do only MSQ and whine when they have to use their brain to do mechanics.
Best example being the 7.3 dungeon.
Preople that only want to do content miss out on the story and that's it. Meanwhile people that, even at lv.100, can't be bothered to know mechanics or their own job are catered to and impact other people.
I say give them the option to skip MSQ.
Ideally make MSQ content engaging and more challenging tho. If people get filtered by that at lv.100+ then... well, thats entirely on them.

In the case of a game that changes over time it might not be so easy to pin down what exactly is being paid for. There is also a difference between researching a game and playing it, even with thorough research.
Putting that aside, at the end of the day "story focused" and "many mandatory hours of unvoiced cutscenes" have nothing to do with each other. Making the MSQ required content does nothing to improve the story. If anything it I'd wager it makes it worse.

They won't even need to run from A to B themselves once the automated pathing is in. Think about how much of the MSQ will just play itself if you turn that on and set text to advance automatically. They already cater to the minority of people. There has been no change from the story being required to unlock features from Day 1 of ARR, aside from them later selling a story skip for those who want it.In the case of a game that changes over time it might not be so easy to pin down what exactly is being paid for. I have no skin in the game if SE wants to develop a patch-story skip they can sell to people who can't be bothered to skip through the story manually.
As far as "research vs. playing" there is a free trial that covers 2 expansions and the base game. If you don't understand that story unlocks dungeons/trials/raids after that much playtime, then I don't know what to tell such people.

True, forgot they plan to put the feature into the game all f2p+p2w games have... autopathing.
So then even more reason to give them an insta-skip.
However we all know why they would never do such a things.
Cause story skips exist in the Cahs shop and the possibility to get more sub money out of those people.

So let me get this straight, if this is so fast to skip, why not have a button to do it at once then if it changes nothing (provided it doesn't skip their leveling and progression)? Your post makes zero sense.
Like bruh, for real, if you think I'm a doomposter, you have yet to see the actual ones that lurk around and make doom posts every now and then. And not just titanmen alts either.
Secretly had a crush on Mao
Well, we're quite heavy into the FFXIV transforming into a Visual Novel pipeline, so it makes sense that this sort of feature is now being considered.
Anyway, would love a story skip option for my account. Would pay.
