SE, please add "No Story Mode" into the game

As someone that has always been pretty deep into lore and story and does take time to do every sidequest ever as well - which also makes me have a lot of criticism toward it but that's not the point here - I don't see why people that don't like it should be forced to go through it at all, period. If someone isn't interested in it, they could just start at lvl1 like everyone else and have access to all dungeons unlocked. They'd therefore level their jobs like you level alt jobs, that's about it. The only thing that would be required would be to flick a switch with big spoiler warnings when starting the game that would unlock you the content without having to do the msq for it.

The constant insistence from this community that because they like the story or because it's a central part of the game, then that everybody should like it as well, is a bit unhinged ngl.

I'm as casual as they come these days, with the exception of crafting...

I fail to see how these proposals have a detrimental impact on other players though, if it is completely optional.

It's literally just giving players a bit more agency in how they want to play the game and interact with the game.

OP, I'm afraid you're asking for a completely different game.

I think a more realistic wish is allowing alts to have everything you main character unlocked regarding MSQ and blue icon quests, but on a business side, I find that hard for them to get by, as they'd lose profit on selling story skips.

Blizzard also does things that are anti business, like when they changed the barber to allow you to change everything except your race
And they're greedier than SE, so i don't think that is an excuse tbh

Anyway... I love the story, but I don't think everyone should be forced to "enjoy or get out!".
Some players are simply more gameplay focused and this game has an awesome collection of gameplay entertainment besides a huge and beautiful world to explore.

If they got rid of MSQ requirements to unlock everything MSQ-related, but gave huge rewards and trophies for those who do the MSQ, we would have a more populated game.

I played from start to finish up to the end of DT and skipped almost every cutscene there was along the way. The solo instances are annoying, I agree that I have no interest whatsoever in being forced to play as another character so admittedly I wish they would get rid of that garbage, but a "skip-all" is pointless. They're literally selling this ability via the cash shop already, why would they ever start giving it away for free. You wanna skip the story, pay $$ O.o (not that I feel SE deserves a penny more than their subs by the way, just saying that's their outlook on things)

Topic starter doesn't ask anyone's opinion on whether it's good or bad, he just asks - just give me what I paid for. Give me the opportunity to do what I like without imposing the rest of the content. I think it's fair. Or he'll just go play something else. I've been here since the 2.0 release, and the overgrown story is a problem for new players.
