To add, this has really become embarrassing. This has been going on for years, PAY CLOUDFLARE, PAY WHOMEVER YOU HAVE TO PAY, FIRE WHOMEVER YOU'RE CURRENTLY USING, IT ISN'T WORKING, PLEASE AND THANK YOU.

I think it's worth mentioning, in any and all posts related to the DDOS attacks, to mention that this has been a really severe issue through most of Dawntrail. It has come and gone, and while it is especially bad now, it's also been terrible before (see: Pilgrim's Traverse release, to give an example. If memory serves, other lead-ups such as the one to 7.2 also had plenty of attacks/disconnections). I would like to at least have an acknowledgement of why these attacks are happening in the first place, which I'm not sure we've gotten. It'd be one thing if someone, somehow, was able to continue to do these so insistently (which, doing it as a protest without any demands? Bizarre, to say the least), but if the cause is related to server infrastructure being in a pinch, I'd hazard a guess that it may have something to do with the way that genAI data centers are affecting electricity and internet infrastructure within the US, leading to the NA specific crashes. Whatever the case, this isn't acceptable and silence shouldn't be what we get from Square with the severity of this.
Clear, straight forward communication about the causes with some manner of reassurance of a plan they'll work on to prevent these in the future should be the bare minimum, especially when this cuts so much into the motivation of many players to play a game they pay to be able to access, and that does not ever compensate for the time lost. I'm seeing in this thread that there's people who've been told it is a "user error", which is demonstrably not true. Even as a player from Chile, far away from any ISP issues that could be influencing some disconnections in NA, I am still regularly affected by this. Hoping that making enough noise can eventually catch the attention of people who can and will do something about this.

I have been reconsidering subbing because I keep disconnecting every few hours along with my FC. I am really considering going back to Guild Wars 2. I have a lot to catch up there anyways. Only thing that holds me here is my house. The fact NA has had this many server failures is inexcusable. DDOS, poor server architecture, terrible ISP. I don't care. And I think a lot of us are of the same mind.
Do something. Unless you want more people going over to WoW. They can actually keep their client running.

I feel like they used to act like they cared, they even gave use free subtime before for it. I feel like current SE management has either given up on this issue or is dedicating very minimal resources to it and aren't talking about it because they've largely gaslit the playerbase into accepting that this is just how it is.I think it's worth mentioning, in any and all posts related to the DDOS attacks, to mention that this has been a really severe issue through most of Dawntrail. Are people forgetting SE isn't the only company that deals with this shit? Look at WoW earlier this year, where several guilds disbanded due to DDOS attacks. I starting to believe whatever groups or individuals are doing this are looking for reactions and we as a collective are feeding into it by making posts like this. Yes, it's obnoxious, yes it wastes everyone's time, but what are they supposed to do?
I'm seeing a lot of "SE do something!!!" And not a lot of clear cut answers. It's because there's not one! The best i'm hoping for is some sort of compensation (game time at the least) but i'm kind of getting more annoyed at the people constantly complaining about it than the actual attacks themselves.

or perhaps a class action... like US and Canada did for Amazon, Sony, Nintendo in the past :PI feel like people need to band together tand make a big stink about this on social media to really rub SE's noses in it.
I don't trust this game's community to hold the devs accountable for anything but its the only way they'll do anything about it. SE is incredibly self conscious about their reputation so I think it would do a lot to make them look like shit to the masses.

I got downvoted for this on reddit, but steam reviews? Perhaps also demanding answers on their livestream?I feel like people need to band together tand make a big stink about this on social media to really rub SE's noses in it.

Hence my suggestion of steam review and reviews anywhere else, along with livestream. Because SE is very self conscious about reputation.

The DDoS attack is on the network provider to the data center, NTT, and not the DC and servers themselves. SE can only do so much to mitigate this on their own, not apologizing for SE, just recognizing the situation.
Other connections to the DC do not appear to have issues, those are the ones used by gaming VPNs and the PSN. Those connections are probably a premium high priority network that is more expensive than the NTT network.
Can they switch providers? Probably but thy are most likely under contract with NTT so it will be painful to do so. The failure point is the NTT node, this is the latest research on the attacks. Hopefully SE can pressure NTT to fix that node.
