If that place is unchanged I dunno how to explain that.

Dalamud has some kinda function other then just crash and burn, that could be what causes the destruction instead of the impact itself.
You know, I've never heard anyone mention this (And if someone has, sorry for not giving you credit)
But I don't know how I overlooked the possibility that the impact is not the intended result
Dalamud, being man made, could bery likely be a bomb.... a BIG bomb....

ok... joking about it being the bomb MOB, but so serious about it being intended to blow up upon impact

Depends on the mass of the object. Gravity is the mass bending space time fabric.

I think the Allagan empire discovered the same Astral / Umbral cycle we know of now, and then created Dalamud for one reason or another, in a way that they knew it would survive into future cycles. So we have to ask ourselves this, for what purpose would the Allagans create a WMD like meteor or a giant bomb that would survive well past their "end of days"
It could serve no end for themselves so they must have left it for future species to utilize in some way. Perhaps a method of stopping the cycle.

It actually looks more like a compressed ball of aether, the mechanism inside could be quite small.

There is a good chance that when it lands it won't do much damage but will change the surrounding area due to it being a big ball of magic.

True... and although there are theories (Some even widely accepted), none are proven. Which means we still don't know what gravity is

    LOL

Another thing mentioned before is maybe they sealed Odin inside of that mechanism and launched his ass into space. Cause in 2.0 he is supposed to be a roaming storm of pissed off primalness.

It would make sense and explain why the aether of Eorzea is being drained into Dalamud seeing as thats the "lifeblood" of the primals and they thrive on that.

Ya, there's no way they'll be an actual impact, otherwise 2.0 will look like Fallout rather then a fantasy realm. Judging by how big the "moon" looks it would most likely destroy the world lol. I'm still betting on the energy of the moon bursting out and enveloping Eorzea in it's aura to force a change within it. I"m think by the next big update we should be seeing the phenomenon of the arethyte gates gravitating towards Dalamud since that was in the sketches a while back. Or.... maybe those red gates will act as teleportation devices allowing us to land on Dalamud for the Job weapons since I'm still thinking Dalamud has a connection to the job weapons we should be getting in 1.22 A or B.

Oh man, teleporting to Dalamud that would be awesome, especially if it feel like you are in space.

They could have some really cool ethereal style monsters, crystal monster.. this idea is too good to be true though
