As far as actual player experience goes, nothing beyond that path through the room has functionally existed for years anyway.
The only upside of Dawntrail failing so badly is the QoL upgrades we're finally getting. I'm glad for job-specific clothes being unlocked.
But 7.4:
-no additional removal genderlocks for clothes.
-no additional space in the glamour dresser.
-no fixing Thancred's face
-no making house ownership transferable between account characters on the same world
-no fixing the ancients' eyes which used to be beautiful and are now lifelessly dulled
-no fixing regular eyes staring
-no fixing the botoxed faces
-no extra faces
I will once again just try to burn through 7.4 as fast as I can. (PS the starlight rewards are pathetic.) All I'm doing anymore aside from that is achievement hunting. My house was about to be demolished and it scared me how little I cared anymore.

I just now read the patch notes, and something that caught my eye was the "duties that can be recorded via the Duty Recorder." I've never used the Duty Recorder, so maybe I'm missing something, but the list does not make any sense to me. "The Ageless Necropolis" is an easy, one-and-done thing; why do we need Duty Recorder for that? I sleepwalk my way through San d'Oria once a week; and wouldn't most savage raiders have M7S and M8S done by now? I thought the Duty Recorder was implemented to help players better learn and understand a fight. Why would it not be available for current savage raids, and extreme/unreal trials? Rhetorical question, I know.
I thought there might be an expansion to Occult Crescent (North Horn, anyone?), but it looks like it will be 7.5 in another 6-8 months before I will need to revisit that content.
Good. Not perfect since a party member will invariably die while logging back in, but at least it takes out some of the risk, especially considering the rampant DDoS attacks. While undertaking deep dungeon duties, in the event all party members disconnect, progress will now be restored upon logging back in within 10 minutes of the disconnect.
Graphical updates seem good, but they are only for "certain NPCs," so what's the point? That doesn't do anything to help my friend who is still upset about the changes made to her character.
I'm glad they're finally removing most glamour restrictions. I think it's a tacit admission that so much of the equipment no longer has any stylistic relation to a specific job or role. The old excuse of "it would be confusing if a healer wore armor" went out the window a long time ago with so many character looking like they came out of Fortnite.
Otherwise, it's just typical new patch things. I was hoping for more stuff that would indicate changes for 8.0, but no such luck.
There were a lot of us players that absolutely struggled with Meso Terminal (and some DT MSQ stuff in general). So instead of reducing the difficulty and creativity potential of future content, the devs have giving struggling players a "life" system to dungeons that's currently only in the Duty Support trials. This is exactly what was requested and I think is an excellent way to keep the lower skilled players engaged while not risking any dumbing down of the required content. There is a pretty massive amount of players that only come for MSQ.

It took me seeing the removal on weekly restrictions in the latest alliance raid to realize that I still haven't actually done it.

Nobody has used the duty recorder, except a few streamers and maybe a few others for memes and tests. Nobody understands why they created or maintain this feature and update it in such an irrelevant way.
You're right, so I can only think that they intend people to record it for the purpose of analyzing their ability to do rotations while "some mechanics" are happening, even if those mechanics are not high-end level mechanics. Since doing this requires the pre-formed consent of every party member, there's no chance anyone will even go through the trouble, especially for such irrelevant content."The Ageless Necropolis" is an easy, one-and-done thing; why do we need Duty Recorder for that? I sleepwalk my way through San d'Oria once a week; and wouldn't most savage raiders have M7S and M8S done by now?
The only other possible reason for it is to take "cool screenshots".
They have been transparent about this the whole time. We were told we would get 3 new jobs in Occult Crescent in 7.4x, and an expansion to it (North Horn) in 7.5x.I thought there might be an expansion to Occult Crescent (North Horn, anyone?), but it looks like it will be 7.5 in another 6-8 months before I will need to revisit that content.
and also a relic weapon step in 7.45 which most likely is doable in creszentia.
without fun jobs none of the content is fun
Ah of course why release everything in 7.4 when you can wait further for .45. Always love this system. Release things separately so people have to sub more.
Also Hyur face 1 bags still not fixed kek.
