It's sad old events never get to re-run because of Microtransactions.

While admittedly a lot of the old events were not the most exciting thing, a few of them were pretty fun. The original FFXI crossover with Shantoto was great, and it was a one time thing never to return. Sure you can buy the event items on the cash shop, but maybe they should at the very least consider some sort of cash shop item that grants you an item that unlocks the quest chain for you to do instead of ignoring the old content entirely.

Yes, but the only other option would be its one time and it would never be released again for new players over the cash shop if it didn't exist now.

As far as I know only 2 crossovers have been retired and their items put in the shop: the first FFXI and the FFXIII event. Personally I would rather they bring them back from time to time, like all the others. They have have so many exclusive shop items at this point, selling event items won't be missed.

Repeating holiday events or allow people to chose to replay them comes with certain complications when it comes to group content.

Considering that this is paid game with paid dlc and paid subscription, and already is poisoned with microtransactions to the point where it's worse than your average gacha, pulling previous event items out of mog station and letting players obtain them via in-game means once again would only be beneficial for the game.

i actually got lucky today. off and on player and needed some random stuff completed and they all stayed for several stuff i needed done! I'm only at Endwalker so still needed stormblood extreme savage and shadowbringer stuff. i felt carried a bit but as a healer it is hard to solo some stuff. and people got their tomes! but yeah....i hear ya.now if they would just make winged unicorn mounts like the ARR ponies. but yes. alot of the microtransactions are not worth it. although i did buy one last year. and many of the events i sadly missed out on back in the day when the game first launched with the FF13 event for the Lightning event.

I really like this idea, actually! Unlock it in NG+ so you can replay any events you like. Noctis's event was cool, I didn't get to do Shantotto or Lightning's but Clive was also fun to meet. Events that relied on FATEs would be a little awkward, but maybe they can spawn you into a mini instance for you to do it and pop you out right after...

There was also a Rising event that caused a special weather with Dalamud in the sky in Ul'dah. Being able to re-do this event, if only to gpose with Dalamud behind us would be amazing.
