I love some of the sets like the neo kingdom and Quetzalli. upcoming dungeon sets looks nice too, although it will most likely ble undyable.

It's one of the first time in the game that I actually had raiding sets make me want them. And I'm not speaking about the regular uwu lvl1 all classes contemporary IRL life glams. Everything Arcadion and a lot of the pvp sets really scratched an itch. Not a single armor set has made me go, “OMG, I need that set!” The armor designs in Dawntrail have been really disappointing. I was hoping 7.4 would finally bring something different, but it’s more of the same. I don’t understand it—most of the sets are either unattractive or just plain boring to look at.
Can we please aim for better designs?
Totally ready to agree that in terms of art cohesion in universe though, they've dropped all pretense there. Not that it's the first time either anyway, since again, the aforementioned lvl1 IRL clothing has been there since forever anyway and feels even more at odds with anything in the world of XIV than scify streetware.
Whatever floats your goat I guess.

Secretly had a crush on Mao
The Turali armor sets, and that wicked Musketeer armor are bangers to me. I didn't know how much I missed the 'Fantasy' glamours.

We have 6 expansions full of almost nothing but fantasy gear while the modern/sci-fi looks were fully relegated to a single PvP set per expansion or the cash shop, and when we finally get an expansion that has a modern/sci-fi location in-universe with an actual reason to introduce that content outside of PvP, people come out of the woodwork to decry the death of the fantasy sets... despite the grand majority of glams this expansion still being fantasy styled. Sorry we can have ~30 outfits over the course of two years and that takes away from having an additional 5 added to your 3675 existing fantasy glams.

I expected a lot more futuristic clothing but we've had very little.

The gear isn't tropical though, nor is much of it inspired by Azyec/Mayan civilisation. There are maybe... 2-3 sets matching that description? Most of the gear from Dawntrail has been either wannabe Cyberpunk 2077 or IRL Hot Topic fashion plopped into XIV with no regard for immersion or art style consistency. Likewise, many people in this thread are complaining about the modern clothing and want more creativity, so I'm not sure who you think you're responding to.thE WhIte knIGht LMaO
What were you expecting from an expac being “tropical”? Dark edgy spiky armours? Because that’s what you want I guess? Or more boring ugly modern looking sets? Genuinely what were you expecting from a world inspired by Aztec/Maya civilisation? On top of some FF9 fan service?
Stop acting like a spoiled kid and get creative.
Bring back 6.0 Dragoon.
Mayakov set (notice there’s Maya in the name)The gear isn't tropical though, nor is much of it inspired by Azyec/Mayan civilisation. There are maybe... 2-3 sets matching that description? Mistic set is pretty “conquistador”
Historia set
Ceremonial set
Yuweyawata set
Quetzalli set
Now about the store modern slop, I don’t really care about it, those are just bonus and not really part of the game or story. Which I was referring to, as the post is about Dawntrail gear. OP also didn’t bother mentioning what they want to see so, this is some ridiculous thread.
Personally I like it, kinda gives something to work with for more of a dark aspect/emo like Since they couldn't or wouldn't do it with fantasy form like WoW's Death Knight gear. If it has to go more modern which i agree is a bit meha but with that said if they can't do my style in the med-fantasy style that other places can Ill take modern sets over any of the cupcake and rainbow sets they typically do, or the "sex" appeal gear

What? AF gear is being unlocked for glam. If you want "dark edgy gear" you have every DRK/RPR/BLM set to pick from. Not to mention we've had plenty of edgy sets that aren't AF gear such as in World of Darkness or the Void Ark or in the second part of Pandæmonium and there's plenty of dungeon sets for this like Troia, Ktisis, and Zot plus tome gear like Deepshadow, the PvP Archfiend set, and the gifted Scion Traveler set pre-Shadowbringers. What are you talking about? We have a WEALTH of dark edgy/emo sets.
1 word : nearly all of those dont have a decent skirt, and the armor tops completely cover it, my point is "yes" technically they are there, but there either only the top looks good which covers the entire body, or 2: its undyeable or 3: it doesn't look proper just a half ass attempt at it lolWhat?
