Calculating the Wait FanFest/Patches -- Next Expansion in 2027?

Okay, so let's do some community math for a second.

Patch 7.4 is releasing in December 2025
Patch 7.5 is probably releasing March/April
Patch 7.55 is probably releasing July/August

Simultaneously,
FanFest NA is April 24
FanFest EU is July 25
FanFest JP is Oct 31

Usually there's several months between the last JP FanFest and Expansion Release, and since FanFest JP ends November 1st we're looking at... 2027?

But if that's the case, we're not going to have content for a good six months after the final patch?

Please correct my math if my mathing ain't mathing.

To clarify, I said six months between content (7.55 - July/August tentative) and expansion. So I'm assuming January/February will be expansion release, and still a content draught of half a year.

I agree with you that it won't be six months between JP FanFest and expansion.

Yoshida blatantly stated that they are aiming for summer releases for expansions. It would be wise to release it in the summer next year. They have not stated if the expansion is delayed.

That's not happening.

Why would there be a FanFest in Japan in October 2026 if it's releasing in the summer? And why would they push the expansion so far back as to Summer 2027?

Middle of December 2026, just like patch 7.4. Why? They need to get the game out in 2026 to save as many players as possible and to bolster their 2026 financials with preorders. It will be out in 26 due to financials, calling it now.

Actually, yeah. Especially since now they have a precedent of delaying the raids for holidays. Drop the MSQ in December, and the first tier comes a month later.
