I have it on good authority Yoshi P at the next fanfest will lead Wuk Lumat on to stage before ritually sacrificing her to appease the masses he will then bestow gifts to the entire playerbase.. free dyes.

honestly, i sometimes feel like we are being gaslit lmao. People say that they enjoy the "new" stuff, but when I look at what we are given, its pretty much still the same things as usual (trial style fight square/circle arena with boss, on a strict timeline asking for rote memorization, mechanics usually mean AoE dodging), but with different tells (ie spike balls appearing in the sky instead of orange circles on the floor). The only outlier so far has apparently been M6S add phase, and that has been polarizing, to say the least. (I don't do savage anymore, but that add phase alone at least sounds decently interesting.)
Even Occult Crescent mostly falls into that category, and Criterion will follow suit too. At least the new Deep Dungeon is structurally different.
RIP Viper 28/06/2024 - 30/07/2024. It was a fun month.
It's just a game. You should really just relax.
"Taken Accountability" What a joke, people like you who use those words will never be happy regardless of what they do.
What they have done so far hasn't been huge but it is showing hope that they are getting on the right track.
1. They got rid of that absolutely useless localization lead, thank goodness.
2. They are approaching content from a perspective of every patch having something for everyone instead of "Oh this is a .x it wont have content for me".
3. Experimenting with the variable boss battle type with quantum.
4. Unlocking glamour to all jobs.
It shows that they have realized that they have to change, it may have taken a long time but hopefully they react quicker in the future.
Edit: I believe the game is highly flawed and that SE has completely abused their fan base trust by definitely not giving FF14 the resources it needs but that does not blind me to what I have seen happen.

I think there are people who were not around in 1.0 and they are jealous that those players got some sort of developer recognition and capitulation. They want their own "ARR experience" and apology even though these are not the same circumstances. Because of this they have to find a way they are a victim whether it be to this game or supposed negative experiences at SE events they didn't even attend.
1. Island Sanctuary. What could have been a potential solution for the housing crisis in the game ultimately turned into a great example of an EA game minus the price tag for content that should have been in the base game. The promise of customization and creativity was heavily limited, and after three or four islands you've basically seen them all. While not the most important issue on this list, I feel that Island Sanctuary is worth revisiting.
2. Housing Crisis. While I understand that Free Companies might have obtained multiple plots legitimately, there is a glaringly obvious flaw in the housing system. I know of at least four wards across two data centers that are owned entirely by one FC. The Housing Crisis needs to be handled more effectively, as it is locking a large majority of players (especially newer players) out of a notable percentage of the game's content. I could not get an apartment, a basic apartment, for the first year and five months. A member of a Free Company I joined had to give me one that they did not use for their alternate character.
3. Post Expansion RNG for High Level Dungeons. It is frustrating to run a high level dungeon to find that one piece of a glamour that would otherwise complete your ensemble only to be barred by RNG. For example nobody should have to run Paglth'an or Grand Cosmos 50+ times and still not get the desired piece. A simple fix to this overwhelmingly frustrating issue is the removal of RNG from high level dungeons from previous expansions. Emphasis on previous expansions.
4. Grand Companies. Grand Companies should not have been left to die in the way that it has given the impact the Eorzean Alliance as a whole has had on the narrative, and in the spirit of Island Sanctuary I feel that it is worth revitalizing. The Grand Companies are a big part of the setting and lore but are irrelevant outside of housing benefits which is a problem I pointed out in the second issue.

5. NA Servers/Data Centers, Crystal and Aether specifically. This is an issue that needs some serious intervention. There are servers that are inaccessible at all hours of the day, every day of the week due to the over population. There are communities on these servers that can no longer be reached or interacted due to the inability to reach them. Balmung in particular on the Crystal DC, and then Aether is an entirely different can of worms. While I am not the biggest fan of venues, I can empathize with their struggle to maintain activity due to the inability for their guests to reach them. The problem isn't being fixed, the symptoms are simply being masked or relocated.
6. Glamour Dressers. Circling back to housing, I've always been curious as to why glamour dressers couldn't be kept in personal housing. It is silly no matter how you look at it. Player owns house. Player has to go stay at an inn or check in with their Grand Company to change the appearance of their outfit. You can reach your retainers from your personal housing. You can reach the aesthetician from your personal housing. Why can't you reach your glamour dresser from personal housing?
7.The Healer Rant. While I am not a healer main by any means, I empathize with their outrage as well. If you are going to allow tanks to self-heal with their cooldowns to such a degree and then salt the wound with additional healing alternatives for DPS jobs, then perhaps giving healers additional means to deal damage or apply buffs/debuffs is worth considering. As it stands, healers are sadly unnecessary in a lot of content with the current system.
For somebody that has utilized Final Fantasy XIV as a means to escape my adult responsibilities when appropriate over the years, it pains me to see the game devolve into such a state. All of the hype for an expansion that failed to deliver on every single promise in unison with poor quality control for NA servers has made this game unsatisfying. Moving forward, I would like to see simple quality of life additions, reworks, and revamps of content that is considered dead and/or out dated. When I see Square Enix take care of these little things, my faith will be restored in their efforts.
I will close my response by stating that Final Fantasy XIV is not dead, but it is on its death bed if Square Enix continues to travel down this road. Square Enix has fallen out of touch with what made the game enjoyable for many players, but I do not believe they are so far gone that the chance of a recovery is impossible. Not everyone that defends Square Enix is a 'LEGO', and not everyone that disagrees with Square Enix needs to be attacked. I agree, 7.0 was not exactly their shining achievement from an in-game or public perspective...barely enjoyable by my personal opinion. Even Muhammed Ali went down in a few of his fights, so despite this 'phase' Square Enix is going through we should let 8.0 be the deciding factor for whether or not the bell rings.
