    Almost a week of constant DDoSing? Some compensation please!

    Its almost been a week since the initial announcement on the 4th about DDoS attacks with no follow up of recovery. We've been experiencing DDoS attacks like this since 6.58. I think its about time that SE gives us some compensation for this since they will not take action (as far as we as players can see). I don't think its unreasonable to want for some manner of compensation at this point. This has gone on far too long. This feels bizarre that we're paying for a game that doesn't function as it should while they are using several "break glass in case of emergency" tactics due to the drop in player base. If FFXIV is SE's cash cow, they're really doing a terrible job of making sure an entire region of players can still access their game while paying that 15+ dollars a month. I've said before that if this was affecting the JPN data centers, something would be done and it would be properly addressed and unfortunately that hypothesis is seeming more and more true as time goes on. This is the most "I'm not mad, just disappointed" I've felt with this game.

    I understand the option of "just play other games", but I have to wonder what their strategy is here when they made it very clear that their hemorrhaging money. Much to think about at the very least.

    It's been absolutely insane, I finally attempt to play and I'm not allowed to do so... so frustrating. You're not some indie company you know, we expect better of you. You've been crying about DDoS as far back as 2017 as far as I can tell. Fix it. Give whoever needs the big bag of money to pump up their mitigation the bag.

    Fr, we make all these "small indie company" jokes because of how ridiculous all of this has become. We can only make so many jokes before it starts to get old real fast and this billion dollar company needs to do SOMETHING instead of just sitting back and going "well there's nothing we can do, good luck"

    I'm new, so I don't know their (SE) or the game's history, but I'm shocked at the lack of communication from the company. Last post 5 days ago for major stability issues? When you log in they also have the ability to show messages and nothing there? Is this "bury your head in the sand" approach what to expect from them? Because of course I play free up to 60ish, like 2 months, and zero disconnect issues. Start paying for the game and now it's constant crashes and zero details from the company for a "live service" game. Like if there is nothing they can do about it, so be it. At least say so. Provide the details you have.

    Our company is tiny and we still post at a minimum daily communications to all customers when specific apps or our services are having issues. Like last week when we were impacted a bit by the Amazon attacks. We sent communication as soon as we identified how and where we were impacted. At least 3 different times over about 36 hours we provided statuses. Even when it was just "we're still monitoring and looking into potential workarounds until stability returns".

    Pretty much this. Someone needs to be held accountable for this consistent, catastrophic failure with cybersecurity.

    Professionally, most law enforcement would tell you to never say anything that'd tip off someone whose liable to be investigated.

    Practice a little Occam's Razor and play another game for a while if it's so intolerable.

    Really proving you aren't reading my guy since I did say the following:

    This is Square's responsibility at this point.

    I get it, DDoS happen. but I've never seen anything quite this bad in an era. Mind you they aren't supposed to be defenseless against DDoS. Everybody gets DDoS'ed but not everybody is down 20 times a day. Where's the service security?
    If Square can't fix their servers soon, then it's time to break out the Cloud Servers!

    They don't need to fix anything, they just need to open up their wallet and purchase CF spectrum or something similar.

    Well, SE is downsizing in its NA departments, so that might have something to do with the lack of counteractions against these ddoses.
