    No, they just have no update to give is all, which for them means it's still on-going. A company being DDoS'd this much has zero interest in security, and zero interest in doing much about it. This should not be such a thing that is so often, and the ISPs are partially to blame for this. This is a known target (if it is even a DDoS, I really question that excuse) and would be constantly monitored and countered.

    It's definitely rough when running ultimates, there's no pain like getting 1/2 way through adds phase or getting to golden bahamut just for ddos to hit and having to start over again.

    Just adding a quick note here: my partner and I did the math on exactly how much DDoSing has been occurring since my initial theorized date of around 6.5/6.58 (October 20th 2023 being the beginning date in question for my personal investigation). I had counted, from that date until now, fifty one instances of DDoS attacks. My partner deduced that there were more DDoS attacks in 2024 (twenty nine of them to be exact) than there were in 2017-2023 combined. Here is a full list of all the dates that I had counted from the lodestone announcements specifically:

    Oct 20 2023 (initial theorized start date of the beginning of this madness)

    April 12, 2024
    May 6, 7 2024
    May 9 2024
    May 10 2024

    when looking at DDoS attacks on other servers, they pale in comparison to how many North American data centers have been getting for two years. There could be more, there could be less, this science isn't exact and we don't know what was reported as a DDoS and what wasn't at this point. I just wanted to add that after making this thread I went in and investigated further because I wanted to see the exact pathetic extent this has been happening for

    We pay for expansions and monthly sub fees. SE needs to provide a STABLE experience for it's customers. Honestly, compensation for lost time that has already been paid for is the LEAST they could do for us.

    I wrote a ticket to SE to try and find out IF there would be any form of compensation since they've said literally nothing for days of constant disconnects (I get D/C around 10-20 times a day, I've lost hours of time due to having to abandon dungeons or restart the duty queue, not even counting the actual time waiting for reconnection to be possible). I'm now under the impression that SE's service is actually just AI bots replying.

    1. My first email very clearly asked if we (paying subscription members) would get any form of compensation for the atrocious connectivity issues that have plagued the game for a week+ now. I implored that even if the issues are caused due to malicious attack, it is still SE's responsibility to be fair and compensatory to their paying customers
    Their answer only loosely tied to my ticket, while they first tried to tell me "no compensation can be offered for disconnections", but then telling me to look for community news updates. It then went on to start quoting sections of the ToS in a rather rude and agressive manner I might add, about how of course SE takes no liability for service outage, etc etc all the usual things you know are always in any ToS to protect against any form whatsoever of being liable

    2. I replied to this rather offensive resonse trying to correct it and even more clearly and directly wrote that I was not asking for compensation on the spot, only to know IF there would be compesnation in the future for these issues.
    It replied with exactly the same response but with a few very minor alterations, saying that it cannot provide compensation but to look for any news updates in the future etc etc etc

    3. I then replied a single line, telling it that I'm now convinced it is actually a bot, AI and not a real human answering me
    It answered that it was sorry the game doesn't meet up to my expectations, it values my feedback, and it hopes I'll enjoy future game releases down the line

    That last response made me laugh for real XD it's so far off base I couldn't help but giggle at how horrible the AI is done. In any case, that's been my experience trying to get ANY information I can on whether or not we (the paying supporters of this declining industry) will get anything, even just an apology ... anything at all honestly. Seems like a resounding no but eh, we'll have to wait and see.

    For what it's worth, I love this game, and I want nothing more for it to continue on and be successful in its future releases. I wouldn't be here if I thought the game was garbage, I'd have long since moved on to something else. Same could probably be said of most of you as well. It's just been a rather disappointing week or so. Fingers crossed things get better.

    Why would they apologize to you personally? These responses are normal. Other games will send you that too. You asked for compensation, they sent their copy-paste response that says "no". It's not that deep.
