Honestly, I would 100% remove all my stuff from my house and let it auto-demolish specifically so I could move to my Island Sanctuary if I could.

Sounds like there might be a problem with the system, though. I lost my house as well, when I know I had been inside the house in the last 45 days, and one of my FC members lost theirs as well. I'm an active player and I tend to do my crafting and such in the house. I did get notices but my spam filter ate them. I would like to suggest an in-game notice when you log in on the character who owns the house, something that comes up in the chat with a warning 'Your house is scheduled for demolition on (date), please return to your property and enter the house to maintain your ownership." or something like that. You get a notice when a character has been off your homeworld for too long, so I know its possible.
I'm sorry about your house and your friend's too. Your suggestion for the notification is great. I'd like to see it added.
I think this is a good idea too. The same way we get that Eternal Bond Vows Renewal pop-up every year, we should get a Housing Demolition pop-up before it goes off, as well. We DO actually get red texted about it, I've seen it myself. It shows up in your chat log. But if you arent eyes down LOOKING at your chat log, or you zone in somewhere where people are talking a lot and afk a bit, then you will easily miss that message and carry on not knowing your house is about to die.Sounds like there might be a problem with the system, though. I will take this opportunity to as always though, remind everyone that a good way to check on the status of your house is to type and enter: /timers
Click the Estate tab ! You can see right there, anytime, what the status of your house is. If its up for demolition, it will tell you that directly in that timers estate window. Ok? Please remember to do that, friends.

You're kidding right?Sounds like there might be a problem with the system, though. There's already a notification that tells you that you need to enter your property when you are outside of it. There's a section on the timers that tells you if you're house is about to go poof. You get emails to tell you so if they are going to spam, set up a rule to not miss any SE account emails.
It's a game sure but a little personal responsibility can go a long way too if it's that important to you.
I'm at around 100 or so fc houses at this point and I've never had this issue. But thanks for letting your house demo so people like me can pick it up, op. You're the best.

I lost a house once. I put up 2 event posters on the walls then login 2 days later to find it demolished. They never did restore it or give me back the total loss.

nope. Cause if it's the error of the demo timer, GM's are powerless to do anything. and the same goes for if it runs out too. GM's won't do anything about it sadly.

A hope is that bright light burning within each and everyone of us!
Or, maybe, you are a bit ignorant on how housing actually works. Each service account can have a max of 40 fc houses. 3 service accounts are cheap. Thanks for the personal attack though. I'm sure you're just the most pleasant of people irl.
Perhaps you should take a break from FFXIV? You seem to be a very angry.
Edit: a couple of abusive people had their posts deleted, so now my post here seems out of place. I just wanted to clarify why this post seems weird now.

Thanks for the head's up, I didn't know it was available under the timers menu.I will take this opportunity to as always though, remind everyone that a good way to check on the status of your house is to type and enter: /timers

* 40 FCs per Region so 160 FCs in TotalOr, maybe, you are a bit ignorant on how housing actually works. Each service account can have a max of 40 fc houses. 3 service accounts are cheap. Thanks for the personal attack though. I'm sure you're just the most pleasant of people irl.
