The only thing I dislike about this upcoming update in regards to glamor is the ability to wear AF on any job. It's really stupid, imo.

Through twilight, we endure.
Well, at least the AF gear still represents the class identity at its core. It's not like you're going to rock up to Gridania for a quest and see Kan-E-Senna strolling around in the lv90 WAR AF gear performing a rock concert for the forest.
Sort of agree, and I wouldn't even have minded it if they kept the current expansion's AF restricted until the next one came out.
But since you can be every job on the same character and you still have to unlock it there's not really an in-universe reason you suddenly wouldn't be able to wear it. It's just clothing / armor after all.
Stop crying about AF gear. The WoL has earned/unlocked them, so we should be able to wear them whenever we want!
I've never played FF11 but according to some comments, glam is unrestricted, including AF stuff. So it makes no sense to restrict them in FF14.
Professional lurker.
While XIV's gear isn't like this since 2.0, presumably the AF offers job-specific benefits to it, like cure potency increases on WHM gear, for instance. It did in XI, and I'm pretty sure it did in 1.23 as well, though I can't remember specifically so could be wrong. Lore reasons, basically.Sort of agree, and I wouldn't even have minded it if they kept the current expansion's AF restricted until the next one came out.

I understand all that flies out the window with how gear is set up, but it still feels wrong to not keep only AF sets locked to the job. Don't care about raid gear and class gear being unlocked, but AF in particular is different due to the iconic nature of it.
11 didn't have glam until well after 14 did. Also, nobody is crying. People are allowed to share their opinions the same as you.

Yeah that's fair enough. As for lore reasons, I suppose you could make the case that that every job could benefit from some amount cure potency or whatever other benefits AF might have? While XIV's gear isn't like this since 2.0, presumably the AF offers job-specific benefits to it, like cure potency increases on WHM gear, for instance. Ultimately I do think it's a small price to pay for removing all the other restrictions, though.
