Here's my idea for an instanced house: give the player Haukke Manor. We've killed all the voidsent in it twice. Nobody else is going to want to live there. Give it to the WoL to redecorate as they please
You bid, you win, and you still end up losing. That's what bothers me the most. You likely still don't have the medium or large plot you actually want. Most people who just wanted a house already got one in Dawntrail, yet many of them are still stuck engaging with the system, not to mention having to log in every month.

They could use the Island, they could have the Loporrits give us a biodome on the Moon with holographic background scenery controls, whatever… but they should consider a system that gives everyone the ability to own an instanced plot and choose the environment. And I love the idea that completing content would give you new environments, because a lot of players go through the game and see the beautiful scenery of the zones and say “why couldn’t I live here?” Much less server strain than creating new districts!
And as we’re seeing with the current item limit/interior size upgrade, anytime they want to add new features, they have the hassle of making sure it doesn’t break the servers. Instanced would give more variety, options and features to housing, without as much server strain as the current ward system. Not saying they should scrap the existing system and start over, but they should add instanced to supplement the wards lack of supply from here on out.

Storage situation?Just add pity system.
Something like x number of consecutive losses turns your bid into 1+? numbef of extras. It doesnt guarantee anything but gives a little edge.
I did little test myself, about the edge that numbers give (in other words did what FCs can do but as private buyer):
My friend had wanted specific plot lot for years, from specific server. She lost relo chance because of storage situation (why overflow in that situation cant work like in case of autodemo ive no idea, but it is what it is and hidsight is wisdom). She has access to her dream plot now. How? I didn't own personal house on that server, so i was free to level 8 utility alts and bid 8 times on the plot when we noticed one of that sort to be free again. 1+8 bids brought one of my alts victory. I was free to build the house and share it with her by tenancy. We trust each other enough for scheme like this to work without hiccups.
The plot is pretty popular, and it wasnt like we swarmed it totally. It was open for FCs as well, and us included there was +80 bid on it. Our winning chance must have been 10-11%.
Is buying house to share it with your friend kinda sneaky? Yes i guess, but i cant say i kick myself much over our determination. She made that 180mil herself without submarines.
They aren't mutually exclusive. Both can function at the same time. Like that, everyone can get a house, and with the current extra house, ppl can continue to feel special by owning another virtual house and brag about it.
Do you people really want to live on that ugly ass island?

Not necessarily… they would have to make a separate area in there for a housing plot. (Which according to some people, may or may not already exist…) I could see them letting you pick a zone theme for the plot using the Island granary designations, such as Meandering Meadows, Fatal Falls, Mossy Mountains, etc.
But they need to put it somewhere other than the main hub. The Cozy Cabin is more of a “base of operations” than a personal dwelling, especially when most have mammets literally inches from your bed! I’d want it off on its own so I could pretend it has nothing to do with the Island at all! lol

The 'more and more wards' solution can go one of two ways:
A. Wards are created as people fill up the existing ones. Now, instead of having every ward full, you have every ward full *except* for the one plot nobody wants (see: the one Goblet small down at the bottom of the hill by the low-res wall texture). And the problem persists.
B. Infinite wards from the jump. Congratulations, there are now 100,000 separate instances of Shirogane, each with one resident occupying that one appealing Large on the hill.
Yup, but there'd still only be enough houses for maybe half of the game's (officially reported?) playerbase.
I still think people who were grandfathered in to the new system should be eminent-domained out of their multiple plots, and people who fill up wards with alts should be banned.
Can we just have the instances? Please? I don't care if wards stay, just give me instances without the headache.

Seeing as Haukke is my favorite dungeon, I support wholeheartedly this idea.
