Trusts are harder than normal DF because it forces you to restart if you died. It's much easier to make a PF if you need extra help from others.I'm so sorry that's happening to you! Definitely talk to the GMs about it and see if they can make an exception or something. They made a lot of the general expansion elements too hard for older or less adept players (I can't get through any of the dungeons using Trusts), but I doubt they intended to actually lock people out of content so they may be able to mark that quest as complete for you and drop you into the cutscene.

Part of me wants to see what is so hard about this very easy being bugged, but that also means I'd have to replay the dawntrail story and urrrgh.

Wait, you just started recently and you’re doing the Duty as Wuk Lamat? Did you buy a skip potion? The reason you maybe failing is because you probably have not played as a tank or even as a Warrior. And the mechanics for Dawntrail have gotten insanely harder.
I looked you up on Lodestone and YES, you bought a job potion and story skip. This is going to work against you since you don’t know how mechanics work in this game. You most definitely need to start the game from scratch to get the basic battle and party mechanics down. You only have Summoner at Lv94 and Alchemist at Lv20 as well as Botanist at Lv20.
I'm afraid starting game from scratch will just lead to them quitting at level 20 out of boredomWait, you just started recently and you’re doing the Duty as Wuk Lamat? Did you buy a skip potion? Solo duty that has you play as Wuk Lamat is not going to be countered by starting at level 1.
The fact that OP got this far indicates knowledge of battle and party mechanics for their chosen class.
regular reminder to OP that that is still not how names work and 'Wuk' is incorrect. Lamat or Lamaty'i is correct but Wuk is like, more clan tag territory.
anyway rumor has it that once upon a time, someone was so bad at a solo instance that they had a friend... come over... to do it for them.
e/: read that OP is a story and level skipper. nah, you brought this upon yourself. also, lamaty'i is literally just a WAR with extra steps, and if the issue is mechanics, going back to actually learn the game will help

Midcore is when you take a look at an Ultimate, nod along sagely to a guide and decide to do it when you get 12 months of uninterrupted vacation, which is to say: never.
Yes. I did get a skip. However, look up "Usasa Usa @ Diablos". That was my old account before I lost it. I know my class. I just didn't want to do it AGAIN. Stop assuming things.

You have a medical condition, change genre. Play other games? Maybe FF14 mobile or something.
its hard to believe someone cant even do 10%. does wuk lamat get so much dmg in the beginning of the fight? how do you die exactly.
i know this probably wont help since you watched a bunch of videos but im curious.
and what im always wondering about these situations: how often did you try it?
without fun jobs none of the content is fun
