Along with Blitzballer as the next pRanged class, I hope they give Summoner three new summons. I'm tired of Ifrit, Titan, and Garuda. Give us Ramuh, Leviathan, Odin.

That's the way SMN should have been done. I liked the idea of the new direction they went with it, and I say that as someone who has played SMN for 12 years, but it feels empty until the later levels and they should have given us a 2nd rotation instead of Solar Bahamut, which nobody likes.

Also I hope to Yevon we get Blitzballer as the pranged. A class that has dynamic-looking animations, was a debuffer in its original series and can enforce a buffer/debuffer identity among pranged like how healers have a regen/shielder identity, and nostalgia bait? It's the whole package.

It's also the chance that we might go look for Blindfront, which could be the perfect location for that to be Zanarkand.

The area around the Blindfrost is an empty frozen tundra that's sparsely populated by Xaela hunters surviving on the edge of a knife. There's no known ports or cities and a frozen sea doesn't fit Zanarkand anyway.

There's not really anything there that could support a whole expansion and 6 zones of interesting and varied content and locations that could also hold the interest of the playerbase at large. The Unpromised is likely Emet-Selch's "treasure's of the Blindfrost" since that's about where a past Khan who pillaged Ilsabard brought back his spoils before being killed, but that feels more like prime V&C content that something worthy of a whole expansion. People really took "Winterer" literally and I don't think the answer to that is going to be quite that. And I'd much rather the next expansion clear the cloud cover that's obscuring the middle of the map of the world rather than hopping to some other Shard or to a forgotten corner of the revealed world that no one cares about.

If Zanarkand were ever brought into the game I expect it would be a location within Meracydia to tie into Sephirot's worshippers likely being some version of the Guado race. I expect Blindfrost will eventually be visited only in a single dungeon instance like was done with Xelphatol and The Burn.

as others have said, we had zanarkand twice already. the good news is that they also rehashed FFIV twice in a row, so i don't think that will matter LOL

Also didn't Yoshida deny Blitzball recently as a minigame?

I personally would find very weird to add a Blitzballer job without an actual Blitzball minigame somewhere.

I assume we'll be world jumping again all things considered, but personally want something original, pretty tired of the all these other FF tie ins/inspirations...

With Dawntrail essentially being Stormblood 2.0, you may be onto something there.
