Thread: Zanarkand.

So with the 8.0 coming up, do you guys think it's a perfect moment for them to use Zanarkand in the next expansion? We that Meracydia will not be in the upcoming expansion, and it's highly possible that we might go further to Ilsabard and the Near East. It's also the chance that we might go look for Blindfront, which could be the perfect location for that to be Zanarkand.

There is a high chance we are getting a Tank and a pRange next expantion. The only job/class/weapontype that comes to my mind that is missing in the pRange role is a blitzball(er). If Blitzballer is the next pRange there is pretty much no reason to not pair it with a FF10 themed expantion. BUT I doubt we are getting FF10 regions. Only references like the one in Shadowbringer (FF8) and Dawntrail (FF9).

We sorta kinda already had Zanarkand. Twice--in the Tempest and Living Memory. Dawntrail was as much FFX as it was FFIX, the FFX references were just a smidge more subtle (Macalania Woods aside). I suppose they could make a much more overt Zanarkand.

If the next expansion is basically a rehash of FF10's story with us traveling to Zanarkand and dealing with Sin then I've lost all hope for FF14's creativity team.

Referencing past games or bringing back a group of bosses for side content is fine, but they should never just reuse a previous game's storyline for the MSQ plot. Post-Endwalker and the second half of Dawntrail to 7.3 left no room for surprises. I shouldn't be able to predict the future locations and trials several patches in advanced simply based on how closely the story is following a previous game.

Zanarkand is just another version of amurot; which is also dead ends, and lunar subterrane, and Alexandria

While zanarakand works flawlessly in 10 it bumps up way to close to threads already rehashed to death in 14. Honestly they need to leave 10 alone at the moment

They can add a different twist to Zanarkand. Like it can be the resting place of the Au Ra Khan that went to Bifrost. It even can be another enter point to the aetherial sea. Keep the connection of souls.
