At the very least, transferring off Dynamis should be free. It's lame that you have to pay to get off a dead DC at this point.

tbf most ppl willingly moved and accepted they would be stuck there for 3 months for housing along with the exp buff road to lvl 80 so it wouldn't make sense for them to make the usual paid transfer for free knowing ppl already keep the exp bonus.

My case is a bit different, I started here (and started playing the game in general) in December of 2022, so only a month after Dynamis was launched.

The tragic irony is that Road to 80 is the only reason I was able to progress through most ARR content (most notably trials) because I was pretty much forced to unsync solo nearly everything due to a lack of players, and subsequently, the first time I ever DC traveled was to find people to clear Crystal Tower because even back then it was impossible to find 11 other people for the Atomos. And to this day I still see poor sprouts throwing up PFs for Crystal Tower, begging for MSQ progress, only to see them expire with barely 6 people one to two hours later... shock of shocks, I don't see often see those same sprouts over here ever again, especially when the alliance chat ends up with people telling them they'll have to queue/make a PF on a different data center, and once they get a taste of what life looks like elsewhere... well, it probably only took them a couple of hours to reach Crystal Tower on Dynamis, so nothing really lost by deleting and re-rolling on Aether/Primal/Crystal, right?

The housing thing also feels so... pointless. I have 2 Medium houses literally right next to each other (personal and FC) but there's little point in doing anything with them (or inviting others to said FC) when there's nobody else around, or how most of my neighbors are probably just botted submarine farms anyway. And again, what new player is going to stay here long enough to get the rest of the gil they need to buy a house themselves? What veteran player with enough gil is going to be foolish enough to transfer here knowing everything else they'll lose by doing so?

If the lockdown and Cosmic Exploration weren't damaging enough, it was only just earlier this year that a bunch of Aether worlds and even Balmung opened up for new characters and transfers... and while they're shuttered up again right now, I have no doubt it helped to hemorrhage a bunch of players from here and that's why things have gotten even slower and more empty in the last couple of months (and that's before tacking on general player drop-off across the entire game).

The only problem with this is for years I was itching to get away from Balmung and even considered tranferring to a different DC to do it, but I had a house and I was stuck. Then they moved the servers around and I was finally free! Those were dark days, dark dark days I do not want to go back to.
