It's kindah funny really...
Seeing some people complain about players being toxic to developers, whilst subsequently going on a toxic tirade themselves.
I mean far be it for me to point that out but LOL, you aren't really any better than those who are being 'toxic' to the developers.
Also funny for some people to point out these forums have become a cesspit of negativity or doomsayers whilst continuing -- and relentlessly, need I might add -- to actually contribute to -- and egg on those posts. Like, at that point you're just the architect of what you're complaining about.
Saying "I'm not reading that. Touch grass" is as toxic as calling for people to be fired? It's kindah funny really...

Anyway, the same people who call for devs to be fired and think it's perfectly fine to be toxic get defensive when someone isn't the absolute nicest to them in return. The hurt puppy dog eyes (or in some cases, weird screeching ableism) is bit hard to take seriously tbf.
If your whole concept and frame for toxicity is built exclusively on the idea that people are asking for others to be fired, then maybe... But let's face it, you and I know your entire frame for toxicity is built on far less, all I am saying is you're pretty much toxic yourself.Saying "I'm not reading that. Also, let's not pretend that you're only being 'unkind' to those specific individuals, or only in cases where it is warranted. You're just subversively doing it, but the behavior is still very much obvious, especially with how much you engage in the aforementioned threads. Like, at this point one could pretty comfortably infer that you actually like the state of these forums, to be honest.
Also my comment is not exclusively directed at yourself.
That is very much how it came off to me, my apologies if it was not your intent. You are telling me that we cannot always change the direction of the game and that they might be intent on keeping the current course they are going no matter the amount of feedback against it they get. Then you said at that point you have to vote with your wallet, that can insinuate quitting or decreasing spent money on them. They could implement things but choose not to, and I am aware that many of the things are more of a choice not to more then "we can't".
"at the end of the day we're not the ones creating it, and as such any final decisions aren't ours to make. If developer is stubborn about some aspect of their game design, as a player and customer the only thing we can do is either keep pestering them while also understanding that it can be for nothing, or vote with the wallet and leave." This is mainly what I was talking about. I see what you are saying, we are going against the developers in regard to their vision of the game. Sure they may never change it, and at that point we are at a cross road and I will have to either accept it or unsub and play something else.
The only way they possibly change is if they lose enough players and are forced to change. Misunderstanding your comment was not my intent, for sure but I get you aren't trying to be rude or anything so sorry if I did not read into the point you were trying to make. In any case 8.0 will either be the start of change, or they will keep the current system. They got over a year so who knows what will happen.

Evil Alice

I listed voting with a wallet as one of the options, not really suggesting that should be the main one people should go with. I think that keeping with providing feedback is generally more beneficial for everyone involved, but I also understand that people don't have endless patience, hence why I mentioned it at all. That is very much how it came off to me, my apologies if it was not your intent. Not sure if 8.0 will bring what people hope to get, but we'll see, I guess, it's about a year away. I know I'll most likely enjoy it myself regardless, but I can't really blame anyone for feeling frustrated when things they've been asking for for a long time aren't being delivered. I've been there, although not with FF14.
Anyway, looks like we understood each other at the end, glad to see that.
You're being very presumptuous and arrogant here. You don't understand me or my frame for toxicity and you pretend to hide behind speaking for me as a way to veil your own obvious judgements. I don't particularly enjoy your attitude so I'm not going to engage with you further xoIf your whole concept and frame for toxicity is built exclusively on the idea that people are asking for others to be fired, then maybe... As an average idiot myself, I'm oblivious to anything and will let the dev team "We're-human-too" my money down the drain

Toxic feedback comes from the almost forced follow up towards the sacred formula of how the game and it's mechanics should be.
It's been not changed for 8 years minimum ( gearing, raid prog system and farming one same dungeon over and over for tokens.)
Maybe it would be healthy to drop what always been done and actually try to innovate? Making a game for a wide audience - DT was focused mostly on the high end and our friends just simply left they ain't feel like a XIV should be their life goal achievment.
