How about give players a button to skip the entire game, automatically refund, and go play better games out there.

100% Agree, as someone who's historically been super into the story. It is now dogshit and forcing people to do it is evil.

I have done MSQ 3 times but I have a few characters with a story skip up to some point to join friends: it's annoying to see all those basic quests still locked, including your chocobo bags and glam. As for trials and raids (AR and Normal), there should be an npc you can talk to to quickly unlock things per expansion (I care about some stories). Unlocking all that while you are trying to reach endgame takes forever with queue times. At least most of the normal raids (ex and savage as they are quick to unlock once you get the story version) are soloable but you still have to go through all the story again.
I still think the mentality of wanting to only, exclusively play the high end raiding content is a hold over from WoW conditioning it's players to only enjoy endgame because that's all the devs actually care about, too... but FFXIV saying no, read and play the story, it's FINAL FANTASY, people get testy.
Enjoy LotA...This is not just about wanting -many have done the MSQ and more already - but trying to give a good experience to all. They charge for both the story skip and the leveling per job (very close to the cost of a full game).

Instead of adding a skip button, it would be better to give a skip all at the login page and not at each individual part of the MSQ. No have to move around and skip text, just have an option that flags MSQ done and move on. You will still have to do the dungeons and trials for roulette unlock but that’s it. This also means you skip all rewards as New Game+ does not do rewards.
If they have to tie it to a skip to the store, it is what it is. I’m also talking about a 100% skip as in, new character to max level skip.

i think your missing the point of a mmo lol
anyways there solution is to pay 60$ for a skip
realistically i want rewards for people who like alts it can be a achievement a sticker legit anything

FFXIV is marketed as an MMORPG. If caring about the story was mandatory: A. Skipping cutscenes wouldn't be an option and B. They wouldn't sell msq skips.
I have zero interest in the story & i've cleared way more content than you.
Who are you to be telling anyone what they should or shouldn't play?

the msq is not the vast majority of the game LOL
finished those snooze fetch quests in like 8 hours day 1 of DT Early Access.. rinse and repeat every patch.
msq is a means to an end sense endgame content is gated behind it.

??? FFXIV has never once said that... I've been here since ARR Phase 1 Beta. At no point in my 12+ years have I read/played the story.. I've skipped quite literally every single cutscene (given they provide that as an option for like 95% of the cutscenes.. I just afk if it isn't skippable).
Mandating someone be interested in something just because you are, is a weird take.

yes? it's not a some bombshell revalation that pressing the esc key prompts you to skip the cutscene if you so desire. I've done this every patch of every expansion.. and there's always players right next to me, doing the same thing. Which is why Day 1 of every expansion's early access, you see a bunch of players in pf farming the ex trials already.
