8.0 massive class balience reworking

Its funny posted while back that 8.0 gonna have a lot job re-baliance and reworks people where like (show links or not happening)

but every time yoshi-p opens his month every interview he has hes spelling it out clear as day. unless people living under rock snorting copium. 8.0 isnt gonna be like last expansions always had. hoping 8.0 job ability reveal be as boring as they always have. think again. they are actually doing something alot ppl may not like but at least there doing something

8.0 isnt coming out until 2026-2027. why do think its talking so long. long like realm reborn long before heavenward came out. we getting something big really big.

Yoship cant even say any specific ideas or direction they want to take the job rework into apart from not wanting to touch combat design but that is exactly what constrains job design so much nowadays. As of now there is 0 reason to believe SE is actually going to shake things up in terms of job design. They didnt even get creative with phantom jobs.

the biggest thing they could do is a level squish down so that every job has their full kit up to 100 in all the ultimate fights (so it needs to be squished to a minimum of level 70, ideally more). this also has the benefit of fixing the issue a lot of jobs have where they lose a significant portion of their damage when they sync down. (viper, reaper, black mage, etc.)

First and foremost, 8.0 is taking longer to come out than previous expansions because we went from 3.5 months patch schedule to 4.5 months patch schedule over the years. When it's taking longer for major patches to come out, logically, that means that the future expansion release date will shift accordingly. That will keep being the case for expansions coming after 8.0 as well, as I don't think that they'll ever shift back to 3.5 months schedule.

As for what's planned for the content to come, we'll see first bits of it during first FanFest in April. We have job re-balance happen every two years in one form or another, and while it looks like they're planning general QoL and balance updates to be the central point of 8.0, I don't think there's much point in broad speculations about what it's going to be until it actually comes. Yoshi-P can't say anything concrete until the release anyway.

that would require reworking all of the original jobs, as well as reworking all of the original job quests. it might be too big of an ask

He has a very good reason to lie, and it's called stringing people along to get their money. It's like how part of he said 7.0 was the start of the new arc, it was widely disliked, and part of his response was "Uh, actually, the new arc starts in 8.0".
