To be honest, it's not the grounded, well-adjusted office workers who hold down a stable job who need reminding of that. But the terminally online MMO playerbase does. So this whole whataboutism angle on the discussion doesn't really work.

So yeah, the playerbase needs a reminder that the devs are people. No, the devs don't need a reminder that the playerbase are people as well.

A lot of it is less team size issue and more so budget issue (although the two are somewhat connected. You do need budget to hire more people after all).

Carin-Eri raised a valid point, and it was discussed many times - not all the money FF14 makes goes back into FF14. I might be wrong, but iirc only the mog station sales go directly back into it, while money from subscriptions and expansion sales is distributed between FF14 and other projects. Regardless of how popular mog station items are, subs and expansions generate a good chunk of revenue, that isn't even then spent on the game in full.

Unless that is adressed, there's little point in hiring more people. They'll probably just end up being underpaid and stressed out because of that, and that isn't a good ground for productivity.

I pay them, I and every other customer in the end is their boss. They work for me. Without us they are homeless and starving on the street.
And they have been delivering poorly on the product they want me to buy. So frankly, them starving sounds like what they deserve at this point.
They better step up or step into the unemployment line.
A business does not get to dictate anything from their customers. Either they offer a product you want, or they don't. It is that simple. This game belongs to those that paid for it an infinite amount then it does to them.

Ignore paying customers at your own risk square. :3

Thanks, I know that. What's the guilt trip comment for, btw? I know that's probably meant for JP feedbacks because (1)they barely look at NA/EU lol, and; (2)JP community's feedbacks are very ruthless, moreso than EU/NA counterparts. But genuinely asking, how much more patient do they expect players to be at this point? If I pay somebody to fix my kitchen plumbing but they barely fix anything or make it worse, of course I'd be disappointed/upset/pissed. It's not that deep with SE too.
I wouldn't call it a guilt trip but it def comes off that way they are people and more importantly under a corporation so they do not have the full say in what will get done in the end it's important that we do not attack the producer or Dev team for this fact alone. Constructive criticism and eventually voting with our wallets will make things better in the long run. Can imagine what you're saying about harsher words from the JP side of the community; Jp are serious about their jobs and Yoshi and team look to have royally screwed up he plumbing.

That said it is Karen like behavior to attack the cashier for what store management has decided that's what attacking the Dev team equates to. xD

Its good to be critical of the game without being outright hateful, I don't think rude comments gets anything productive done personally.

We need to leave feedback and make it known why less people are enjoying the game that's important, but respect should always be there.

We can see that they listen to our feedback (JP, US, everyone), because Wuk Lamat was reduced and will be unused in the new expansion.

How dare paying customers demand an improvement of things after the product they pay box price + sub for got worse in many aspects and don't want to see the game they invested hundreds, if not thousands, of hours into steadily get worse with more downtime between new content.
All while the devs deflect with corporate talk.

    The audacity.
Seriously tho, not everyone has such low standards as you seem to have.

If I could condense my personal opinion of the game as a consumer without ranting about all the details.

"The quality of the game has gone down, the writing should be more aimed towards adults like it used to be. The game is a whole lot of untapped potential that lacks care and innovation in a lot of departments. Do better. You are being paid monthly."

Let's not throw that rock, when the pro-Mare crowd was throwing whole cart-loads of those bad boys. They had a whole Appeal to Emotion quarry. They industrialized the production of Appeal to Emotion.
