Glamour Dresser/Plates 800/800 isn't enough... Please!

As a collector of the armors of the game, 800 slots is not enough. I enjoy the challenge of mixing and matching the armors to make a unique look. I play every piece of content of this game, and I enjoy it, I haven't tackled ultimates yet, but I'm on my way to it since most of the other content is done for me.

Some of your armors while same armor, has a different color pallet AND there are some colors that you can't dye (aka abyssos fending, that black is nowhere in the dye system)

The Job armors alone 22 combat + 11 Crafting + gathering = 33 jobs (Yes I like to try and glam my crafting and gathering classes.)
And normally the job armors are the 5 left slots, that's 165 pieces with just 1 set (DT all jobs) We have had multiple expansions with more artifact armors just the job armors alone put us at 200/800 if not more.

Then comes some dungeon armors that are different color pallets than the crafted versions. SOME armors aren't even craftable OR dyeable - example (Wolf armor from Grand Cosmos)

Your combination of armors + weapons for a system like this WILL fill the glam dresser very very quickly.

I'll use Vanguard dungeon as an example as it contains something for every job (DT)
That's 56 slots filled. (armors and weapon) This is just 1 dungeon. If I collect armors from just dungeons alone (the ones I obviously like)

And more.

These are just dungeons, I haven't even included Relics, Extreme (weapons), Alliance Raids, Savages, and Ultimates.

I've really tried to pick a theme, but sometimes I want to change out of it. Be a cute knight, be an edgelord, cyberpunk, doman, ala mhigan, etc etc.

There is not enough room for most of the armors of this game. The change to the lvl 1 armors all being put together is a nice but the dyes do not remain on dyed armors I already have in my glam dresser. I lost my jet black dye on a chest piece because I merged it. Fine, I'll deal with it.

It's an ok system, it has a market for dyes and armor collection (through crafting) but the 800 slots is not enough and nor is the 20 glam plates.

I don't want to believe you're forcing me to buy 5+ retainers. I understand it's my choice to do so, but I also believe there should be a middle ground to this system that we already pay for.

Whatever thoughts. Just my take.

There should be enough glamour plates should cover all classes DoW/DoM/DoL/DoH.

The number of glamour dresser slots should also be doubled.

To this day, I still glam my gatherers in the ARR Artifact set, and my crafters in the Artisan set!

A glamour log is pretty much a necessity at this point and if tying achievements to it, it would revive essentially all content in the game. Also make every single piece of gear dyeable or have an option to be so like with Savage or augmented tome pieces!

Definitely… at this point I have taken advantage of the new outfit glamour feature, and pared down my dresser significantly, but I’m still at 770/800. I’ve hit that 800 max several times! And I have extra retainers that are filled to the brim with spare armor I’m keeping just for glam purposes. There will come a point where even with max retainers, one cannot possibly hold all the gear they want to keep in the game! With the outfit glamour, it’s also led me to collect entire sets, just with the idea that maybe I will be able to combine them as an outfit in the future, which I believe they did say they were planning on at one point.

So I’d definitely support a glamour log. But if we don’t get that, I would propose moving ALL AF gear to the Armoire. They might already be leaning in that direction, as I noticed that the Armoire has added headings under the AF gear tab (even though you can only currently put the ARR sets in there), similar to how they’re dividing up seasonal and mog gear. That alone would make a significant difference for my glamour dresser. And also, if they would apply the outfit system to regular dungeon/raid gear as well as the level 1 glams. Plus the starter gear for each race, as they are level 1 and seem to have been skipped.

Even with those changes I would suggest upping the storage limit to an even 1000, unless they can figure out how to allow pieces in an outfit set allow dyes to be applied and saved. And the plates must be increased each time they have a new job, to ensure that each job has at minimum one plate. All jobs, meaning battle, crafting, gathering and don’t forget the limited jobs, BLU and upcoming BST! If the number of the jobs is uneven and makes the UI look weird, then fill it out with extra bonus plates and future-proof it for awhile. I’m thinking we have 30-some jobs, so 40 plates for now, maybe 50 if they really want to be proactive about it.

The game has a storage limit issue. Stuff like baits and dyes should have their own UI inventory that doesn't take normal slots. Then other things such as finished relics occupying space and not being able to put the replica in the armoire or currency like Savage books or potsherds not having their own UI inventory either simply bloat our inventory over time.

Unless they add a catalogue system that simul simplifies both server side storage and player UI side storage... nothing will ever be enough. The longer FF14 goes on the higher the glam dresser storage needs to be... which is bad because of the server related costs. Something more efficient, like what WoW seems to use, is needed for FF14.

Agreed, a system overhaul is what's needed long term. Even when he upgraded us to 800 slots, Yoshi said something to the effect of "soon you'll be asking me for even more" because he knew this would eventually happen since the solution was just kicking the can down the road. And now here we are.

I started to just ignore glamour rewards if they are not something I would 100% use. I just don't have space for stuff that I may or may not use. So unless it's an Outfit that I will definitely use, it goes straight in the trash.

Yeah, I've been on about a "tackle box off-hand" for fisher to hold baits and lures since 2.0

Years later, fisher finally gets an off-hand, and what do we get, effing spearfishing. I'm still kinda mad about that, ngl, lol.
