Whilst have no lines in this play personally, I have to agree with this.
As said in the now-deleted thread, some modders became far too confident in how "untouchable" they thought it was
(quotes from the forum - plenty of similar minded posts on social media too):
Which no doubt led to so many thinking it was okay to advertise their use of it on their adventurer plates etc.![]()
This would actually make a lot sense considering they've never pushed to take down other mods and when they have been openly against mods and made public statements (such as the stalker plugin) Though of course this is only speculation really.
It seems a bit weird that they would target one mod that will likely get replicated down the line rather then going after the main one that hosts them.

skill issue
Majority of the time it's not the modders telling everyone about the mods, it's some of the users that just can't shut up about it in game.
The same way how Bard players can't stop playing copyrighted songs. Time to take away their Instruments.
No the modders were totally discreet and didn't draw ANY attention to themselves at all, how could Yoshi p target them like this??

Ok and where is now the modded stuff? if you post something atleast post something which actually has Modded stuff in it, because none of them screams "mod"
The issue with this is less in fact pertaining to the use of mods, and more due to the fact they've used a registered trademark on a public billboard, and misrepresenting.

If you want the real answer Mare more or less had the same functionality and sniffed the same files that Playerscope did, the stalking plugin that revealed alts.
You know, the one Square Enix got screeched bloody murder for not taking down faster, the one they eventually did take down? The one that got a Cease and Desist?
I'm truly not surpirsed that SE didn't bother to look into the "good plugins" and "bad plugins". To them they saw two plugins that sniffed game files that they didnt like, that the community didn't like.
I imagine someone will just make another one that doesn't interact with this data anyway.
