    It'd be nice if they made brought back Carbuncle auto-attacks, even if you couldn't directly interact with them (maybe these could change depending on the previous summon? Like summoning Garuda-Egi/Emerald Garuda could upgrade the auto-attack to a low-potency AoE like Gust until the next summon).

    Elemental summons should cost MP or have a longer cast time, and Enkindle could be made into an ability again which upgrades their signature attacks (and maybe they could rework Burning Strike, Rock Buster, and Aerial Slash so you can choose between different damage types or effects, like maybe Burning Strike now does high single target damage and Aerial Slash does high AoE damage but worse single target damage so you'd prioritise saving Enkindle for Garuda in single target combat and Ifrit during AoE).

    Also just bring back old Aetherflow again, it'd make sense if SMN had actual MP requirements again and connects the Arcanist jobs again.

    Note that mechanically, it'd still be you doing the attacking. You use the command skills that might even have cast bars, and they cause GCDs. It'd be purely a visual/style/theme change to make the cast we cast not do anything immediately, but a second later Ifrit casts a big attack at the target or so.

    SMN needs a FULL rework again. but watch them just add the other 3 summons but they are just "aoe" summons that you use in dungeon trash lol

    That sounds like a nightmare, but thankfully also highly unlikely. lol Can you imagine having to single target every mob because you hadn’t gotten to the AOE gems yet? XD

    If they use the existing gem summon framework they built, each gem summon has a single target and AOE version of their skills.

    every expansion every bloody expansion not once moved from terrible trio. we not got step on me momma shiva, we not got levithan no tidal waves for us i guess. we all know squire enix hates water spells. we dont get cooling ramah lighting guy cause no that be too cool for summoner squire-enix on mission make all summoners look lame as hell from the start with lame cartoony egis

    I love too see that change more then anything so this class is not complete total embarrassment to what a summoner should be was every game after. name one summoner or caller in this god forsaken franchise that ONLY SUMMONED 3 base monsters they were not even summons there floating tards 1 bahamut and 1 pheonix.. Absolute disgrace of a job

    Summoner was worst thing ever created in history ff14 any final fantasy game period clearly dev team has no respect for there player base or there own final fantasy franchise . this crap should been flushed down the toilet never given green light

    I'll toss my idea in. Been a smn main since I started back in stb. Thats not to say I call myself a good smn, just one who has played it a lot through its numerous changes, so I'd like to see it reworked into a kind of hybrid of what we have now and clive from ff16:
    >Add shiva/ramuh/leviathan, as theres no real reason they cant be added. Especially with the button/ability swapping, they can easily overlap on summon ifrit/titan/garuda buttons preventing button bloat
    >Remove aetherflow ogcds, replace with 2 stacks of searing flash per demi summon
    >Give each egi summon a unique property/buff + rework astral flow+ remove searing light
    >Egi summons stay on the field and attack on their own after being summoned for a short time similar to the demi summons
    >Bahamut upgrades into solar bahamut, and give phoenix an upgrade for polarity
    >While a summon is out, give the summoner an ogcd to dash to/swap places with the summon (provide multiple charges or reset cd per summon for ease of use) and provide 1 use of ruin 4- call this "astral step"
    Egi changes:the summon and summoner should be 2 different beings, but their kits feed into the other so give each summon a unique buff to the smn(wont be party wide unless explicitly mentioned) upon being summoned and using astral step the summon will use their respective astral flow ability
    >Ifrit on summon provides a crit rate buff to the smn for 15 seconds. Ruby rite/catastrophe will have a 3s cast time but will guarantee crit.
    >Titan on summon provides a party wide shield for 30 seconds. Topaz rite/catastrophe remain the same. If titan uses mountain buster, a small party wide shield will be created stacking with its previous shields
    >Garuda on summon provides a stacking haste buff to the smn stacking up to 4 times for 15 seconds. Emerald rite/catastrophe have a 2 second cast and 2.5 second recast. At 4 stacks, slipstream has no cast time and 2 second recast
    >Leviathan on summon provides "increased hp recovery via healing actions" and each attack by leviathan heals the summoner. "Sapphire rite/catastrophe" have a 1.5second cast, and 2.5second recast. Astral flow/step to levianthan will cause it to execute tidal wave healing the party and applying a DoT in a cleave around the primary enemy
    >Ramuh on summon provides a damage increase to the summoner. "Amethyst rite/catastrophe" have a 2 second cast and recast, and provide a stacking buff causing the next astral flow ability to do increased potency. Astral flow will become judgement bolt doing large aoe damage
    >Shiva on summon provides 10% damage reduction to the party for 10 seconds. "Kyanite rite/catastrophe" have an instant cast and 1.5 second recast and provide the summon with a small shield. Astral flow- diamond dust will double the damage reduction value to 20%, but for 5 seconds
    >Solar bahamut on summon will execute searing light
    >Upgraded phoenix, loses rekindle but everlasting flight is upgraded to provide a 400potency heal and regen is upgraded

    how bout we just delete "egis" all together just have big summons do the attacking and stuff i hate those floating tards thats what they did in 11 its better then tards we have

    I mean if we had an active control variant where they did something on their own but we keep or own nukes and later we get to issue commands instead and have to account for the delay in execution then fine, use egis for lower levels so people can learn the ropes. Not less abilities overall, just more immediate control.
