Can you please link me to those videos, and please do name some of those Streamers that actually want those changes or that have been vocal about that change on any of their stream.

Most people who stream FFXIV are divided largely into 2 groups: doing MSQ and doing raiding.

I cannot speak for all of course, but as somebody who engages with savage and Ultimates daily.. I do NOT! care about normal dungeons, and I don't think any normal dungeon comes anywhere close to what you find in any "hardcore" content. If you did any of that stuff, you would know that, but you just cry in forums because you couldn't breeze through a piece of content.

So what if you died, so what if you failed to do a mechanic? Where is the actual problem?

I miss this type of thread from ye WoW days, lmao.

Still. Hope you find greener pastures. I might not be far behind once more of my friends start dropping.

On the writing front, some folk have extremely low standards, and that's just a problem with media across the board. It is what it is. We either have to step up and write ourselves, or sit down and moan about it.

OP - I hope you move onto things that you enjoy and find pleasure in and I find no glee or delight in players going but understand, good rule of thumb for me is when the fun stops, stop.

I can sympathize with the feeling that certain casual content has been scrapped (*cough* Forked Tower Normal *cough*) in favor of harder content, but what this sounds like is that you’re coming to this dungeon a patch or two later than other people and getting groups that are really impatient to speed run it, which is a trend I’ve seen. There’s even people saying they had to replace people who dropped on the new 7.3 dungeon multiple times because they were upset people were wiping their first run, and that’s almost unheard of during the first week of a new patch!

Not sure if you just got bad luck with dungeon mates, but did you ask or did anyone offer to explain anything to you? Because there’s tricks to make these things easier to see and do, and I’d like to say that most are willing to help, especially if you say “first time” at the start, or that you’re having trouble with a certain boss.

But for some explanation from someone who ran that dungeon over 100 times getting my pretty caster coat… The misdirection thing sucks. This one is a little more complicated of the sludge around the path. What you have to do is point yourself in the direction you want to go then move forward just as the hand goes in that direction. But I do it in bursts. Straight, turn, straight, turn, til I get to the edge. And I still mess it up sometimes but it’s easier for me to break it up like that. If you have to run through the sludge on the last stretch to reach the edge, do it and pop whatever shield you might have.

The part where you have to run to behind the last boss is telegraphed not just by the cast name (in fact I can’t even remember what it is), but by visual “waves” emanating from the boss well before it goes off. I preposition myself exactly opposite from the boss, then look to see which way the chasers are going, pop sprint and go in the opposite direction. The spiral circles before the crater are much the same… the first safe zone is going to be halfway between the initial lines, then when it goes off you move into the part that just exploded to be safe for the other half.

I’m not a Savage raider by any means, but these mechs are ok once you learn how to see them. There’s a lot of visual “clutter” as you say, you just need to learn what part to focus on for each thing so you can ignore the rest. I’d recommend running with friends or joining an FC to find some if you’re having difficulty, but definitely run with real people because the trust NPCs aren’t going to help you understand what you need to see and they can’t rez you.

Pick warrior / paladin, get phoenix down, shield everyone who might get into CC and you're done. Can't be easier. Mechanics are way too easy once you see them at least once.

Haven't done the MSQ yet myself, but this new dungeon had better be insane the way people are hyping it up. It can't be that hard... but even if it is, just try again until you succeed. It's a video game.

Yes, they stated they were going to be increasing MSQ general difficulty this expansion because EW was WIDELY regarded as being way too easy. I am a huge advocate for more 'midcore content', but that would be a step UP from this, not this being the 'middle step.'

I'm not a huge fan of misdirection mechanics either but the boss in Yuweyawata gives you a REALLY generous amount of time to do the mechanic. Counting in a video I just watched it's something like 18 seconds to navigate from paths opening to impact. Of all the mechanics people would be bringing up, this is the most like.. "what?" of all of them. The 2nd boss of Vanguard is way tougher, the final boss of Alexandria is tougher, Apollyon is tougher and that's literally the final boss of the first dungeon. And that's not even mentioning the worst dungeon of the entire expansion, Strayborough, which has two very annoying (imho) bosses.

I absolutely agree with the latency comments, and I *DO* believe they need to lay off how much they're making some AOEs into snapshots. That part needs to 'go away', MMOs should not be twitch games. But I mean I've played other MMOs recently and if you think that FFXIV's MSQ dungeons are 'hard' I mean it's not just this game, it's kind of entire genre that's moved away from you.

But I don't think some people really understand that if you are playing a dungeon on duty support while on DPS you are playing that dungeon on hard mode. NPC healers heal to a script and will only go 'off-script' to heal you so much, so if you are continually getting hit by mechanics eventually yes, you just aren't going to get heals, unlike players who practically compulsively keep people at 100% in MSQ dungeons. The 2nd boss of new dungeon is very rough in duty support because it's all on you for the most part if you are doing it there.

And complaining that a boss's ability name happens to align with the name of a difficult video game series is probably the weakest correlation to intent I've ever seen. Bury that argument, it makes you look very silly and really makes me borderline question if you're just trolling.

It's the Steps of Fate/Shinryu/'That Solo Duty in Endwalker' moment where a sudden spike in challenge gets a few players smacked on their face and come around to have issue with it.

It just has the first 'personal responsibility' boss that we've ever seen in MSQ content so people are melting down over it. It's not really that much harder than any other boss, but because it's a brand new thing most people are dying a few times while they figure it out and it's causing people to go crazy with difficulty level complaints.
