    Most can't be bothered to do the former very well either.

    Granted part of it is just the game not wanting to hurt anyone's feelings, so nothing indicates to the DPS player that their freestyle rotation is doing less damage than the tank.

    DPS responsibility is the inverse of tanks.
    They have close to none in MSQ content, dungeons, normal raids, trials or alliance raids where you can do abysmal damage and the boss will fall over eventually anyway.
    They only start to have responsibility for the party's success in extreme trials, but then it gets exponentially higher as you go up in content difficulty, where both their damage output and additional party mitigation become a requirement.

    At least we can agree on one thing in this thread: MMO players dont want to cooperate, they want other players to play the way they personally think they should, and anyone not doing that is by definition "bad".

    Did the OP talk about any specific dungeons, champ? And i specifically said tanks are indestructible in later levels. You know, not early? And I've said that if DPS do want to do that, they should be using their tools available to them. Tanks can pick up aggro just fine, regardless.

    this is like evidently a skill issue. first off, sometimes tanks are allergic to sprint and take forever. second off, sometimes tanks are so bad that prepulling with arm's length and blood bath and/or personal mit on a dps is actively a gain. if i am a dps, i will prepull. if i am a healer, you can bet your ass i will prepull. the only time i dont prepull is on RDM because it's kind of annoying lol.

    as long as the healer is fine with it, the tank has no right to complain here. this doubly goes for if the tank has other jobs leveled, especially other tanks. i expect the bare minimum amount if engagement with the game from people past ARR, ngl.

    Uh huh.

    Regardless, when im tanking and an impatient DPS has to eat floor, I'll continue asking them what they were attacking, if it wasn't the tanks target.

    We can all agree to disagree, and this thread can collapse into "no do it MY way" because, as I said: MMO players dont want to cooperate anymore.

    If you wont adhere to your role, ill switch off tank stance and focus on using my own dps increasing tools too. When you want to play the game as designed, I'll be here.

    Let me back off a moment here. Im getting too toxic, and thats on me. Deep breath, woosah.


    It has been my personal experience, that when there are DPS running off to pull more mobs instead of assisting in the killing of the one currently being engaged, thats when I all of a sudden find myself dead on the ground because the Green DPS was too busy pew pewing to do their job.

    In this very thread, we have Green DPS gloating and justifying their abdication of the role they supposedly signed up to play, right alongside the Red DPS. If Green DPS are inventing a sub-game called "how low can we go" then surely me allowing more people to go low will only increase that "fun" right?

    The only role that seems to have its traditional place being upheld, is the Blue DPS.

    So how would you solve this? It seems to me that since we are ALL in agreement that roles dont matter, then me switching off tank stance really shouldn't be an issue, right?

    You're not the only one who experienced it.
    They try to make excuses to get away with it, nothing more, and project.

    pulling ahead of the tank is normal gameplay. turning off your stance and letting a player die on purpose is a reportable offense. your opinions on ~maintaining the sanctity of the trinity~ don't change that. a tank's job is to tank, not to whine about having to tank things.
