If they have not mentioned it, then it is more likely that they have not given thought to implementing it into the game. This is unfortunate, as the game does need these updates to maintain a healthy playerbase.

I will quote this in case you didn't catch it, but this was said in November 2024. That was 8 months and 14 days ago.

At this point I think it's safe to assume it's just not a priority anymore. But they don't want to say that because they want you to stay hooked and hoping-they dont want you to give up and let your house demolish and potentially never come back again. They want you chained to that house with hope of great things coming, feeding them money that they don't actually deserve in the meantime.

Yoshi told us these big changes were coming, in Dawntrail. Then he said we would get them at the last patch. Then the last patch, he tells us it's going to be THIS patch. Then THIS patch he tells us its NEXT patch-He keeps pushing it back. He keeps telling us a time, then changing the date once the time comes. Anyone else would be livid, if this was some Savage stuff or whatever that people were excited about and making plans for ohhhhhh we wouldnt hear the END of it!!! There would be outrage up and down all over the internet about how yoshi keeps pushing off their content after specifically telling them to tune in to watch news about said content. But since it's housing, all the sudden the ugly ogres want to crawl out, cross their eyes, and start drooling..."well why did you watch, btw 1+1=26"

To make it worse, he doesnt even bother with housing skins either. At least with every patch we would preview housing items coming + new housing skins. He hasnt done that in what, 6 months? Now to even see new housing items, we have to wait for the patch notes like the night before. He's so lazy now it's insane. He used to always hold up pictures for both of these things, now he can't be bothered for even one. AND we don't even get new house skins anymore. Yeah that's why WoW is running laps over him. That's why thousands have demolished their homes, he's bleeding players left and right. I see why!!! Trying to pad his Live Letters with step by step instructions on how to turn our computers on. Yeah great work.

The biggest sticking point for me is the absolute lack of clarity coming with such a vague statement. Does "it's not ready yet" mean it just wasn't ready for the Live Letter, but will still be there in patch 7.3? Or it won't be in 7.3, but 7.4? Or the scope of changes has changed, so there'll be a whole load of new changes to the system, but that won't arrive until 8.0 now? Is the delay because of hardware supply issues again, and out of their control? Or is it because the features are so cool that they're very tech-heavy, so they hope we won't mind a bit more of a wait? Is "it's not ready yet" even talking about the expanded item count, or something else entirely?

The fact they didn't take another 15 seconds to actually clarify the situation further comes across as if they simply didn't care to be there any longer.

I tend to be pretty forgiving of a lot of things when it comes to the game's current shortcomings, but, man - being told to wait months for 7.2, then being told to wait another 4-odd for 7.3, then being told to wait for 7.3's second middle-of-the-night live letter, then waiting 4 hours for the info promised, then being told there IS no info? That's a LOT of really, REALLY bad communication and - worst of all - it's actively and agressively wasting everyone's time with no apologies and no explanations.

This isn't even feeling like "the bare minimum" any more.

My bet is they wanted to give us +50 Slots for each Small/Medium/Large and then saw WoWs 10k itemlimit and maybe it went through their heads that those +50 might be to pathetic (but with recent decisions i doubt they thought so much anyway) ..

You have some good points there, it is indeed disrespectful to lead us on like this. I would like to believe that the update is juuust around the corner and really just needs another month or so, but unless they say it clearly like that, I won't assume that is close to the truth.

I also would love to get a new housing skin. I am actually a bit disappointed that they do not make more mix and match skins for a more personal touch. That would make the neighborhood look much more unique instead of most houses using the same Sukiya-zukuri walls.

I totally agree with you here. It was also quite the bummer that we sat there so long waiting for Yoshi to finish his Deep Dungeon exploration. I wasn't joining the stream to watch a full blown spoiler. I switched tabs and went to make some lunch while they were wasting time... they probably even wouldn't have said anything if people in the chat didn't repeatedly ask for the housing update.

Unfortunately this is exactly what Batbrat wrote. All made so it gets you hyped and the product is almost never delivered. The sheer fact that they never mentioned housing during LL just shows that they have forgotten it or left it into abyss so we can expect housing update to come in like April/May 2026 or something. Or hell maybe: "just wait 8.0 guys, the graphic updates and Mahjong voices were too harsh on our cost".

They really need to fix the damn housing system because it's outrageous and plenty of servers don't have a single plot to buy. When I came to Alpha server from Chaos, we had plenty of housing. Specially since new wards opened. So my friend and I managed to get 2 mediums next to each other in Goblet. A few months later, you see a lot more people from Chaos coming in and transferring because Chaos is mega dead for anything reasonable. So housing problem arrives and now even small ones are hard to catch. Meanwhile nobody wants to go and have a house on a dead server / DC.

Now for single medium house, we have 70+ entries and don't let me even talk if they are FC house. it's even more. Another issue is that bots maintain these houses by a lot. Specially when large ones / mediums (best spots) open. There will be tons of bots competing. So good luck winning against that. Then they will sell those accounts with specific plots just to RMT and a lot of sub free money for RMT.

Yet Square doesn't have intention to fix this. Their solution is to increase interior space but then there's no sign of this coming. I don't know how this will go but it's pretty terrible game state.
