    Gimme Corsair please!! Give it two guns, and a cutlass, and make is a melee/phys range hybrid. You need the sword to make it a proper pirate job.

    If they refuse to do anything interesting like give a phys ranged some melee attacks, then give me a cowboy/gunslinger job that uses two revolvers.

    Also we need a techy tank that uses a hammer a la Jayce Arcane.

    Or a gun built into the sword like Cervantes has in Soul Calibur since he's also a pirate lol

    For my part, I'm going to have to go with the old 2nd job for each class idea, with the majority of skills moved to the class itself as to allow for a complete and satisfying rotation even there, although the job may upgrade certain actions for added visual flavor. E.g., anything not specifically related to singing/resonance would be Archer, not Bard; anything not related to Chakra (be that Beast Chakra as bonuses for form-specific actions [Dragon/Twin/Demo retweaked], Light/Dark chakra, Chakra gates, Anatman, or whatever else) or manifested elements would be Pugilist, not Monk; anything not related to Mudras and Ninjutsu would be Rogue, not Ninja; etc.

    Classes would then have the option of junctioning any two other classes [adding core mechanics and some skill renames in accordance with the chosen Major and Minor junctions], giving effectively a third choice per experience- (and typically gear-)set. In essence, you can mix and match whatever, while jobs are the slightly more oddball/unique but nonetheless "meta" extensions of each initial toolkit. Classes therefore tend to be viable for all but the highest tiers of content but are competitive only in exploratory missions and other non-standard content where their added control in less typical situations may be leveraged fully.

    E.g.,
    • Arcanist -> Summoner / Scholar
    • Archer -> Bard / Ranger
    • Arbalist -> Hunter / Gambler
    • Diviner -> Planar Mage / Astrologian
    • Gunner -> Machinist / Corsair
    • Fencer -> Red Mage / Runeblade
    • Warder -> Dark Knight / Magehunter
    • Swordsman -> Samurai / Adept
    • Gladiator -> Paladin / Immortal
    • Rogue -> Ninja / Thief
    • Thaumaturge -> Oracle / Black Mage
    • Conjurer -> Geomancer / White Mage
    • Lancer -> Dragoon / Ashwarden [or Thorndancer, Wyrmbinder, w/e]
    • Marauder -> Warrior / Reaver
    • Chirurgeon -> Sage / Mnemonarch
    • Etc., etc.

    Honestly, I'd also be fine leaving all the classless jobs with just the single job for now. In which case...

    Ranger - Pure damage dealer. No singing. Uses "knacks" --which are sort of odd blessings born of the "Near Spirits" (those who have gotten too close to humanoids and have become... hybridized over time-- and the spirit within its bow alongside incredible focus and extreme training to allow for great feats of marksmanship, useful for misdirecting threat, highly controlled AoE burst, special functions. The Ranger therefore has a decent number of utilities that they can trade some damage towards at relatively low cost.
    [Accordingly, Bard then ends up having more to do with melody, able to weave in song uptime to create phrases that one's bow attacks then continue by echoing parts of said song.]
    Thief - Similar-ish to Ninja, but with the ability to refill one's Thief Kit deliberately with specific tools while out of combat and your other non-class abilities coming from stolen items (based on enemy type, position, etc.), and a bit less emphasis on a tight rotation and more on opportunistic ingenuity.
    [Accordingly, Ninja just gets a little bit deeper into its ninjutsu, while Rogue (especially under certain Junctions) acts as the way to avoid randomization and mudras both.]
    Immortal [Or Valgrimr] - Foil to the Paladin, Immortals [or Valgrimr / Deathmasked] are more about oppressive/suppressive cunning, with debuffs able to be capitalized upon for high potency-per-GCD after setup and high control over when that burst ought occur.
    [Accordingly, Paladin gets more into its Oaths and shield skills slightly, with greater defensive-support agency available therefrom, while Immortal takes on the more offensive opportunist/churn vibe.]
    Not sure which Dragoon foil I like more.
    • A Wyrmbinder is more of an agile, tricky, and almost cruelly oppressive hunter -- something that is almost a monster to monsters, able to maim them into submission (to guard their lands against other threats even while running in fear from their people) or bring them to outright extinction. Some psychic and runic abilities. Tactical positioning. Blood rituals and omen-reading. Fated combatant, where few if any fights are fair -- most augurs manipulated in their favor.
    • A Thorn Dancer is likewise a rapid, agility-based light-spear or blade-spear-user that's almost impossible to pin down and deals a death by a thousand compounding cuts. Builds up and then mixes different rhythms, with optimal damage almost involving rotational switches that almost "psyche out" unfamiliar viewers. Spins, joint strikes, semi-grapples.
    • The Ash Warden is more based around Zulu war arts and can take a shield in offhand. Tank(y). Footwork-heavy. Nimble but steady. Capable of both brutally taking ground and holding it. Strong ripostes.
    [Accordingly, Dragoon would feature a bit more of its gravity-manipulating leaps / gravity-redirecting descents and draconic magics.]

    But ours has a tentacle, which makes the new job far more powerful than Samus.

    Blitzball!

    New job, eh?
    I have been thinking since this expansion theme has been quite tropical and full of water zones, perhaps "Ace Striker" from ff X.
    Weapon choice? Blitzball, naturally.
    I would think it would go to ranged dps slot and could use skills from both blitzball game and also little bit modified forms from Wakka's limit breaks.

    And of course, famous Ject Shot could be for Limit break.

    Ninja was a mistake, bring back Rogue or add Thief.

    The whole "But muh hero of Light" was debunked the moment you introduced Dark Knight and Reaper.

    Much like the whole "But muh glam needs to fit the job fantasy" excuse when dungeons and sidecontent started spewing plate armour for healers and casters.

    I can't tell you how heartbroken I was when I learned Thief was lost to us back then. That was one of my mains back in 11, I loved playing Thief so much.

    Especially egregious when they purposedly make actual Fending items to look like anything but heavy plate.
    Yuweyawata fending set
    Ark Angels fending set (hilarious when Striking gets more plate than Fending)
    7.3's dungeon fending set which only has plated greaves and a helm
    7.2's raid fending set is just... modern clothes
    ... just the tip of the iceberg.

    Don't get me wrong, I love that they don't adhere strictly to heavy armor for tanks, HOWEVER... they need to make sense in their discourse.

    Corsair but as a parry and evasion tank.
    Blitzballer for aiming that applies debuffs to enemies.

    Like as just a hypothetical example, but on a 120 second cooldown for the big button a tank presses when they want to survive for 10 seconds, why not make it something like "Perfect Dodge" where for those 10 seconds the Corsair has 100% evasion rate?
