the dev will listen to a new job idea over fixing what we have that's the problemNot that I don't largely agree, but... necroing a thread over 6 years dead just to say that you'd rather not participate in said thread?
Wouldn't it at least have made sense to put this comment on any of the ongoing New Job Ideas threads, or at least one from, idk, this year?

singer/idol weapon akb0048 micsabers, glowsticks and camera drones.
mammet/puppetmaster minion pets, weapon a doll that comes to life, parasol guns.
mesmer/ illusionist weapon hand mirrors and hologram projectors. creates illusions of dead heroes saved in living memory database.
but I want something a tiny bit silly at this point not gonna like a trickster job that could be based of kefka

what about the mule from foundation a insane mutant clown with the powers of professor x? weapon could be a pocket watch or a crystal skull cerebro type headgear?

I think the next job is going to be aiming. A couple of ideas:
1) Gambler: Throwing dart/cards/etc + whip, has melee and ranged 'stances' used for their filler rotations and unlike RDM, it can fully decide which one they'll be at, but you can't use the ranged combo at melee range. Special attacks are all RNG 'gambler' based, but they don't define dps throughput, instead adding utility buffs/debuffs on top of the damage.
2) Artificer: Wields one-hand hexaguns loaded with magic rounds. Through combat you need to 'prep' the ammo you're going to use by mixing magic components with a system that feels like a mix of Mudras and Motifs. Thematically a mix between FFXI's Corsair and FFX-2 Gunner jobs.
Having said that, I also feel XIV could use a true nature-dweller job in the future, likely a caster that manipulates wildlife and plants with a classical RPG druid archetype, which could be dubbed as 'Shaman' for FFXIV.

They should make a demolitionist job. Remember how in CLL you have to break a door and need to save an NPC tank to break through it? The new and amazing Demolitionist job comes with massive damage and crowd control. You can ambush enemies, and use a powerful transformation to roll into the enemy, making them fall from cliffs, taking massive fall damage.

Nintendo would sue because Samus turns into a ball and they probably have patents now on turning into balls..They should make a demolitionist job. Putting aside that they're extremely unlikely to list to either (or anything)...
...they'd have heard none of this thread's new job ideas, either, had he not necro-ed the 6-year-old thread just to say they shouldn't hear this thread's ideas.
Hard to beneficially solve an issue that he, himself, is simultaneously making.
Seconding this one.2) Artificer: Wields one-hand hexaguns loaded with magic rounds. Through combat you need to 'prep' the ammo you're going to use by mixing magic components with a system that feels like a mix of Mudras and Motifs. Thematically a mix between FFXI's Corsair and FFX-2 Gunner jobs.
Food for thought: an idea very much like this came up also in a thread way back in... HW, I think?... in which some people were arguing that we should go back to the "build your own job" system, able to spend character level among whatever class/job ranks we like and where this would have been the combination simply of Engineer (a DotH class) >>> Artificer / Gunner > Rogue (with Gunner as the "primary" class / weapon type, ofc). I wonder if such a thing would even be imaginable now that we've come so far away from the 1.x philosophy or ARR/HW Additional Skills...

I just want the Ranger job from Dragon Age Origins - Daggers + traps + animals that get upgraded into their more fearsome counterparts.
"We want bunny suits for guys!" -- OK! ✅
"We want Ishgard housing!" -- OK! ✅
"We want Viera!" -- OK! ✅
"We want Cloud's motorcycle!" -- OK! ✅
"We want Blue Mage!"-- OK! ✅
"We want the ability to earn past Feast rewards!" - OK! ✅ to armor
"... and mounts?
They talked about that new jobs sell expansions and generate hype, I feel it's unlikely that we'd see 8.0 with ZERO new jobs for the sake of reworking the old ones.
But I think that 8.0 having just one new job (likely aiming) is a much more realistic thing to expect. And whatever production costs would go into the second one is redirected to reworking the old jobs.
It also kind of sets up 9.0 for having the healer+tank duo.
